ADDING AND SUBTRACTING

UP TO 100
We are now starting the unit for adding and
subtracting numbers from word problems.
This week we will be using this HyperDoc to
do our work. When you scroll to the next
page you will see instructions to follow.
There is also a schedule to show you what you need to complete each
day to stay on track. Buckle in!

These are the standards we are focusing on...

MGSE2.OA.1 Use addition and subtraction within 100 to solve one and two step word
problems by using drawings and equations with a symbol for the unknown number to
represent the problem. Problems include contexts that involve adding to, taking from,
putting together/taking apart (part/part/whole) and comparing with unknowns in all
positions.
MGSE2.NBT.5 Fluently add and subtract within 100 using strategies based on place value,
properties of operations, and/or the relationship between addition and subtraction.

Your student will be learning how to add and

subtract up to 100 using numbers from word
problems. The standards that we are
working on are above this paragraph. Your
students are provided with “I can”
statements below so they will know what they need to master by the
end of this unit. Below is a schedule to keep your student on track with
the rest of the class. There is a video explaining how to work the
document in the “directions” box. If you or your student has trouble
