Hope you are doing well. Just got a very nice email from **************, a kiddo from my home town
of Caseyville, Illinois. He didn’t mention you by name (but I am safely assuming it was you he met with)
and said he had a GREAT time. After the meeting he’s 100% sure he wants to change his major from
Comp Sci to Software Eng. I’ll take care of that on my end today.
I really appreciate knowing my students are in safe hands when they meet with you, Brittney. It means
so very much to me – especially since I won’t likely be on campus again for a while. Keep up the good
work. Stay safe and sane!

Hi team,
I’m not sure if you were able to connect with ********** and his family on Saturday but I just got off
the phone with his mom. They absolutely loved their visit to Lincoln! They thought campus was the
perfect size and thoroughly enjoyed the Haymarket. They couldn’t believe how helpful and welcoming
everyone was on Saturday. She also said their visit to Iowa did not even compare - sister attends Iowa
and dad's a Michigan grad - so lots of Big Ten competition in the family.
Once his major has been officially switched to Software Engineering, they plan on depositing! Damian
said he’s ready to officially be a Husker. Huge thanks to you all on a great event and especially to
Brittney on helping Damian decide between all three programs!!

Team,
Thank you so much for helping at Encounter Engineering Day! We had 43 students in attendance overall,
at some points that number fluctuated but I am pleased with the turnout. I sent out an evaluation
yesterday to our students and currently have 15 responses, they are overwhelmingly positive.
Additionally, I asked in their evaluation if they are more likely to consider Nebraska Engineering after
this event and three-quarters of them said yes, the other quarter said maybe so that’s not bad! 😊
Here are a couple additional comments that were made that I thought might be nice to share:
There were several other comments where they mentioned how much they appreciated hearing from
the alumni and students on the panels. They all liked the tours and overall several students simply said
“Thank you for organizing!”. I definitely learned that next time I will push a bit harder for students to
have the latest zoom update! Thank you for your patience in that. As we all know, when hosting an
event we simply have to adapt when things come up! Fortunately, Adaptability is my #1 strength! 😊 😊
Once again, thank you for taking time on your Saturday morning to help with this! These sort of events
can’t be successful with an awesome team! My hope is to host one of these each semester moving
forward. It is a great way to engage prospective students with faculty, staff, alumni, and current
students. If you have any questions or feedback about the event please feel free to send me an email.
Thanks again!
Jeff
Brittney,
Thank you so much for all your help! Its amazing being a Husker and part of Computer Science.
Im excited towards the beginning of quality education and building the foundations. It all
started with out meeting. Thanks a lot and will reach out if ever needed.

Hi,
I just wanted to tell you how thrilled we are to have so many students in SOFT 160 this year (I
think we will start with 80 students, up from the low 60s last year as I recall).
Even better news is that it looks like we will have 14 women in the course (we had only one last
year)! That will likely double the number of women in the program. I believe our URM number
is up this year beyond women in the course too. Now, if we can just retain all the members of
this great cohort in the program.
Keep doing what you are doing--it is working! Next year we are going to need bigger sections
and/or a third section.
Thanks for all of your work!
