1. Introduction

In this essay the research question is ‘To what extent is addiction towards Instagram
changing the way teenage girl see herself in Australia in 21 st century’. I chose this
because I’ve seen many people using Instagram nowadays, which is an
online mobile photo-sharing, video-sharing, and social networking service that
enables its users to take pictures and videos, and share them on a variety of
social networking platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and Flickr1
