Simple Present Tense: Positive Form


Use this tense to express daily actions, true facts, or things in progress now.
To form the positive of the Simple Present Tense, write the verb in the infinitive form.
Note: The third persons add S to the verb.
Verb: to play
1st Person I play soccer in my school.

Plurales
2nd Person You play soccer in my school We play soccer in my school.
He plays soccer in my school. You play soccer in my school.
3rd Person She plays soccer in my school. They play soccer in my school.
It plays soccer in my school.

* Exceptions for the 3rd person


1º When the verb ends in S, or in a likely sound as SH, CH, or X, we add ES.

watch = watches dash = dashes

2º When the verb ends in O we also add ES.

go = goes do = does

3º When the verb ends in Y and it’s precede by a consonant we have to change the Y for I and next add
ES.

fly = flies study = studies
