H.O.P.E. CLASS GUIDELINES

To help you successfully complete the Health Optimizing Physical Education course requirements, it is
important that you familiarize yourself with the following guidelines.

A. Class Preparation
1. Attendance
a) Class attendance is not graded and will only be for monitoring purposes, however, students who
accumulated more than 3 absences/Tardiness will be reported to the parent and SDFU.
b) Tardiness will also be sanctionable by school policies on attendance.
c) Unexcused absences or tardiness will not be allowed to take any missed assessment or graded
activity. The parent or guardian is required to fill-out the google form found in the SDFU canvas
attaching any necessary document of proof (i.e. medical certificate). No SDFU endorsement
means no make-up with the missed assessment.
2. Synchronous Class
a) All students are required to turn their camera on.
b) Microphone should always be muted if not in used.
c) Taking of screenshot or recording of the class or someone without the concern of the teacher of
the student is strictly prohibited.
d) Abuse of the chat box for unnecessary talk is discouraged.
e) Use prescribed virtual background.
f) Class number-Last Name, First, and Middle initial-Section
g) People not enrolled in the course are not allowed to join synchronous classes.
h) No other gadgets will be used during class, unless requested by the teacher.
3. Attire
a) All students should wear prescribed uniform at all times: White Shirt, Black Jog Pants/Leggings,
Shorts, and Shoes.
b) Unacceptable attire: boots, slippers, boxer, sneakers, sando, all P.E. uniform with other school
logo or name.
4. Safety
a) All students are expected to adhere to safety rules and procedures as well as activity/game
regulations.
b) All students should prepare water ready to drink, medications if necessary, and easy reach to
people in case of emergency.
c) All students should declare any medical concerns or history to the P.E. teacher during the
orientation week.
5. Make up Procedures:
a) All absences from class must be made up by written (i.e. excuse letter signed by the parent,
medical certificate) report. The letter must be submitted and approved by the SDFU and/or the
strand coordinator. It is the obligation of the student to inform the teacher of a possible valid
absence or the remarks made by the SDFU.
b) Students who are medically excused from participation should coordinate with the teacher and the
an endorsement from the SDFU is required to arrange alignment or alternative with the course
requirements.

B. Grading Breakdown

a) Written Works – 20 %
● Quiz – 5%
● Long Test – 15%
b) Performance Tasks – 50 %
c) Trimester Examination – 30%
