Job Description

Associate Professor, Human Resource Management


Summary

The Associate Professor, Human Resource Management is responsible for: 1) teaching


undergraduate and graduate level courses in human resource management and organization
behavior, 2) advising student research projects, 3) conducting and publishing research, 3)
supporting College and University committees and initiatives, 4) contributing to the
development of the broader community.

Responsibilities

1. Design and deliver undergraduate and graduate level courses that are aligned with
learning outcomes and foster student engagement and development
2. Develop evaluation processes that accurately assess student knowledge and skills
3. Advise students on career, academic and personal issues
4. Supervise student internships by supporting development of training plans, monitoring
student performance, and capturing final evaluations
5. Serve as advisor on student research projects and theses
6. Develop an active research program and publish in reputable journals on a regular basis
7. Seek and secure external funding to support faculty and student research initiatives
8. Serve as active member of College and University committees to improve functioning
and reputation of the University
9. Contribute to well-being of broader community by disseminating research results,
consulting and volunteering

Requirements

1. A Ph.D. in human resource management, organization behavior or related field


2. At least five years of experience teaching at the College or University level
3. Knowledge of learning principles and how they can be used to enhance learning of
different student populations in different settings (eg, lab, seminar, large lecture)
4. Strong presentation and facilitation skills, particularly with diverse student populations
5. Knowledge and experience in the application of human resource management to
improve organizational effectiveness
6. Demonstrated track record of publishing in peer reviewed journals
7. Demonstrated ability to secure external funding to support research agenda
8. Record of providing service to the university and impacting organization effectiveness
9. Ability to work collaboratively with other faculty and staff
