Question: 01
How is a technical report different from a news report? Mention their
differences.
A technical report is just a report, that exclusively technical and includes all the technical details
of the subject. It does not involve other department matters or other non-technical fields. It
should be written in such a way that every technician expert in that field understands it and does
not need to ask for additional information. As it includes all the references for all the information
from which it has been created. What we involve in the technical report are just technical facts. It
can not be understood by an irrelevant person. It is only important to you and the relevant person
you report to.
A news report is more general. The target of this report can be one or more than one member of
another department, and general management, or any general manager himself. Do not just
presume who will be the target. What we involve in news reports are non-technical facts, have to
do with performance, achievements, success rates, and productivity. All these things are directly
linked with the success of the company or organization.
The main difference between a technical report and a news report is that a technical report is
usually addressed to a particular technical manager or person. This means that technical reports
are written for particular people and often use more complex word language related to that
organization. Whereas a news report is written in a more general form which is directed toward
one or more people from the other department. The news report is meant to be used more often
as general news so that more individuals can understand it.

Question: 02
Download a research paper of your choice; read its Executive
Summary/Abstract thoroughly and attempt the questions given below.
Please note that each one of you should find a research paper on your own. If
two students work on the same research paper, that shall be considered
plagiarism. Also, if the summary/abstract is already composed of headings, do
not use it.

Executive Summary:
Teenagers are today’s most profuse users of social networking sites (SNS). Contemporary youth
are growing up in a cultural setting in which many aspects of their lives will be mediated by
social media and many of their experiences and opportunities will be shaped by their engagement
with SNS. Subsequently, questions and controversies emerge about the effects SNS have on
adolescent development due to how embedded their lives are in social media. A systematic
review of fifteen articles was used in gathering information on the effects of SNS on adolescents’
social and emotional development. The studies gathered concluded that there are both risks and
benefits to teenager’s social and emotional development when it comes to the use of SNS.

Purpose:
The purpose of this report is to study the change in behavior of students who use social
networking sites and how social networking sites are affecting their emotions and personalities.

Method:
A systematic review of fifteen articles was used in gathering information on the effects of SNS
on adolescents’ social and emotional development. The method chosen was a systematic review.
A systematic review is a method used to gather information either based on a lack of information
on a certain topic (i.e. Social networking and teens) or a lack of clarity about the topic.

Results:
SNS's are restricting teen's ability to have face-to-face communication skills that are necessary
for everyday life. All studies discussed bullying and sexting (i.e. sending nude pictures, talking
in a sexual manner) as the top two emotional risks to teens. The study discusses the effects of
cyber-bullying on teens.

Conclusion:
Concluding, teenagers are being affected by their SNS use in both negative and positive ways.
Contemporary youth are growing up in a cultural setting in which many aspects of their lives are
mediated by SNS and many of their experiences and opportunities are shaped by their
engagement with social media. A systematic review of fifteen studies has proved that SNS is not
a negative thing, but in fact, SNS use has many positive aspects for our teens that are growing up
in this media-saturated world.

Recommendation:
More research is ongoing on this topic in the complex way that is included in the reference.
