Problems,
Recommendations
&
Conclusion
5.1 Problems:
Observing working of different departments of BSKL during my internship period &
analyzing all information I’ve collected regarding the same I’ve noticed the following
problems BSKL have-

1. Factory does not have any Freedom of Association (trade union).

2. Factory is not covered by collective bargaining agreement (CBA).
3. Factory doesn’t have any day care centre.
4. Workers Participatory Committee is not functional.
5. Overtime compensation is not paid within legal time.
6. Garments are stored in an excessive height (more than 6 feet) in the wash goods store.
7. The facility does not have sufficient fire fighter, at present they have 512 fire fighters
instead of 682 based on the current manpower.
8. Factory’s exit routes found blocked with carton sheets at dining room.
9. Factory is not blowing dust on a regular basis as a result electrical panel board (PP
section, 5th floor) found coved with dust that may help to ignite fire.

5.2 Recommendation:
After analyzing all those findings I recommend the following things:

 They should ensure best quality of the raw materials they use.

 It’s an era of democratic style of Management. So the organization should have to

practice democratic style of Management.

 They should maintain cordial relation with workers so that productivity increases.

 Their main strength is in knitting section so complete automation is necessary in this

sector for surviving in the competitive market.

 Human resource practice is traditional and also unethical (favoritism & nepotism).
Unskilled & corrupted person entered in the organization due to this. So, the company
should overcome this behavior in order for recruiting experienced and highly
educated employees.
 Their recruitment & selection procedure should be developed.

 The organization should provide effective training to workers.

 Their salary & other benefits payment are not at satisfactory level, it should be
rational.

 Floor space is not adequate to produce large volume of production. for free production
of large volume floor space should be extended.

 Suitable work environment for worker should be developed.

 This factory should take proper step to improve their quality of products

5.3 Conclusions:

The garments business is tremendously competitive. In the context of growing competition

among RMG exporting countries and consumer preference for products that meet
internationally recognized standards, it is essential for Bangladesh’s RMG suppliers to
improve quality of their products. RMG authorities in Bangladesh should implement effective
policies on housekeeping, material storage and handling, work station design, fair wage, fair
disciplinary action, and workplace violence. RMG is, however, the most flourishing sector in
Bangladesh and it would be imperative that each and every issue related to improvement of
productivity as well as quality is strictly followed to survive in the global market. Owners of
RMG factories must emphasize on employment conditions, working conditions and
occupational safety and health management to be more competitive in the international trade
of textile and clothing business era.

Moreover, regular practice of compliance codes of conduct can bring higher price of
products, lower labor unrest, less worker turnover rate, highest worker morality, highest
productivity and product quality, smooth industrial relation as well as global image and
reputation. Thus RMG industry can ensure best quality of their product & maintain
international standard which will help them to attract & retain foreign buyers which will
serve their business purpose as well as accelerate our economy.
