Welcome address by Alikik Sir

Followed by which Stephen sir gave a wonderful and a beautiful glimpse of the Nirma university, to
introduce Charles sir to the eminent Nirma University.

Intro. Of prof. Charles by alikik sir

Prof. Charles first briefed about the agenda of the session.

He started with his first agenda of discussing about the brand Nike and how it turned to one of the
largest sports companies in the world. He started with introducing the founder of Nike, Phil knight
and his vision for his brand. He discussed how Phil started his company from a very small scale.

He carried onto discuss some little-known legal acts about Nike

He told how a legal issue (breach of contract) led to creation of the company Nike which turned out
to be a turnout point for the company .Then he moved on how the logo of the company was created
with just a small contract of 35 dollar.

He then moved on to discuss about the marketing strategies used by the company.

He discussed how aggressive sport marketing is done. And for substantiating this he used the
example of Michael Jordan and how Nike contracted Michael Jordan for being a face for the
company, which would enable the company to gather attention of the consumers

Then he moved on to discuss about entrainment marketing and how its used by the company. For
this he gave an example of the movie Forrest Gump and how the promotion in the movie turned out
to be beneficial for the company. And how this method is still followed to promote the brand.

He discussed how marketing is not a easy task and requires a lot of efforts

He then moved on to discuss about Massive teams deals and how the company made a massive
contract of 100$ million with Manchester united. And how they were benefited from the same and it
made them earn millions of profits

He then discussed about how Nike used fearless advertising to promote its products. And how
company gathered popularity with such advertisements. He also discussed how the company used
different tagline or slogans to attract consumers.

He also presented multiple advertisement to depict how the company made very creative ads with
strong message and this so fearlessly to attract the customers. And Nike was successful in doing the
same.

He discussed how company contracts with great famous personalities like Ronaldo, lebron james.
And how the company uses their popularity as a marketing strategy to turn to their advantage.

He then further discussed how the company makes the strategy of “listening” mandatory. He told
how the company made efforts to gather the insight of the minds of customers in India. He disused
how they conducted research in india. And what efforts they made to make jersey culture popular in
india to take advantage of the same. He further discussed some of the strategy used by the company
to gather popularity, from deals with BCCI, celebrity endorsements, creative advertisements, etc. He
substantiated all the strategies with his real-life personal experiences of working on this project.

He discussed all the aspects very interactively with amazing and creative short clips. He supported all
his views with his real-life experiences.

His presentation was followed by a question- answer session. Where all the participated. And
Charles sir also responded to the querises with great excellence and the same with real life insisders.

Then Aluki sir presented a ICSL Jersey to charles sir as a token for rememberacne and as a symob of
gratitude for participating in the conference
