Socio-Ecological Business for Rural India

(Objective: - To Feed the underprivileged children, Women Empowerment and Youth Employment)
Introduction
Today we, as a society, are facing enormous economic, environmental & societal threats. Millions of our
rural inhabitants continue to live in poverty, denied a life of dignity, rising inequalities among urban &
rural peoples. Gender inequality remains a key challenge. Youth unemployment especially rural helpless
female is a major concern. Financial independence makes a woman assertive & empowered.
Recalling Swami Vivekananda’s quotes: - “There is no chance for the welfare of the world unless the
condition of woman is improved. It is not possible for a bird to fly on only one wing.

1. Innovative & Responsible business Idea :- My idea is to start a ‘Food Outlet’ with some innovative
solutions to feed the underprivileged, poor children, slum dwellers in such a way that “the more food
consumers like, the more it will sell & we will be able to feed more children.”. We will provide food in
“Biodegradable” food containers & packaging materials that will made of Bamboo because with this
initiative we can make people aware to avoid plastic container & utensil & will be able to generate
employment by manufactured those products & as a result farmers will get direct benefits from the
business. Not only me, even can we all take part of this initiative through this ‘Food Outlet’. We are not
asking our customers to donate money or materials at our outlet rather saying to taste the food & know
the matter once. That consumer who will like the food will eat again & spread the social matter & hence
will help us to raise a fund & also our business will take its desired leap.

2. Idea that fulfills the criteria: -. This huge amount of work is not a single man’s job, so the plan is to
include NGOs & Charitable Trust. We have to visit them & explain the matter & then select the one who
interested for this kind of work. We will donate the fund to respective organization & ask them to do the
work accordingly & SMS regarding donation will be sent to customers that for their contribution
underprivileged children are getting food & as a result it will spread positivity among the peoples .We
need to make well & effective food menu for outlet with reasonable price so that low earning individuals
can have the opportunity to “Serve the underprivileged”. We have to approach various academic
institutions, different Offices, Community Clubs, etc. to take part in the initiative. There is an
employment scope for rural people by manufacture the biodegradable utensil, container & bag and also
provide services like cooking, serving, delivering & cleaning. We will provide a free vocational training
on the same to the local youths for their livelihood. Our future approaches is to export Bamboo products
& establish Food outlets to the whole state & then going pan India with business objective as “Go Green”
with Moto “To Feed the underprivileged”. We have to do promotions for raising public awareness by
means of posters, slogans, & advertisements by approaching media houses, etc.

3. Specific capacities as an Ethical Leader: - Ethical leadership is a management style that works for
any organization. These are the top benefits for a company that relies on ethical leadership.
Some ethical leadership characteristics:-
