I t's an evening like any other. Adol and Dogi set up camp far
away from civilization. The forest is asleep; branches above
sway gently in the wind, scattering curtains of moonlight into
the canopy above a campfire.
The two travelers had just completed a hunt for wild game,
and have prepared a hearty stew with the day’s bounty. To
offset the gamy flavor of the meat, Adol tosses an assortment
of herbs and spices into the kettle.
The meal concludes with a pot as clean as it was before
they started cooking, save for some loose bones. With full
stomachs, they unwind, relishing the many moments like
these and the many more to come.

of my knowledge about the world outside of our tiny village
was from him. I was captivated by the prospect of adventure.

"Really...?"
"Yeah. There's nothing wrong with looking up to your
parents or even wanting to emulate them." Adol purposefully

be a point to having a sword at all."
Cesilica sniffles, suspecting he was trying to console her.

How could he discard it without hesitation to save someone
he barely knew? Or perhaps legendary swords just seem
to gravitate to him. Perhaps they recognize him to be a
swordsman who would wield them for the purpose they were
