Type of protection Ex p – Pressurized panels

Baliga Ex p Pressurized panels and its control systems, will allow instrument grade air to purge out
hazardous gases from the enclosures & electrical machines which are indended to use in classified hazardous
locations. The initial purging process removes flammable gases/vapors within the Pressurized enclosure. After
initial purging, a minimum over pressure shall be maintained inside the Pressurized enclosure to restrict entry
of flammable gases and ignitable dust from it’s surrounding. As a system safety interlock, the Ex p pressurized
enclosure shall be powered on, only when the initial purging is over and a minimum over pressure is
maintained inside the enclosure.

The control system is Electro-pneumatic, which provides a high degree of safety as required in type of
protection Exp – pressurized enclosures. The system comprises of Ex d pressurization control box and
necessary Pressure regulator, Flow meter, Flow control valves & required tubing and cabling. The enclosure
pressure & exhaust flow are continuously monitored and interlocked to ensure optimum safety of the system.
All necessary warning and special instructions are fixed on the Exp Purging & Pressurization control system
for regular follow up.

Types of Pressurization
Type px: Pressurization that reduces the equipment protection level from Gb / Mb to non-hazardous.
Type py: Pressurization that reduces the equipment protection level from Gb to Gc.
Type px: Pressurization that reduces the equipment protection level from Gc to non-hazardous.
