BENIRE 3 REFLECTION
5/27/2021 (10:00am-12:00nn)

It is a good time for us students to have this kind of activity amid isolation because of this whole
pandemic situation that we are in. It is good to talk about the situation of our physical, mental and
spiritual being. It is good to have a mere connection with ourselves and meditate. The BENIRE 3 is
our last recollection as an institutional requirement. It is quite saddening that we could not see each
other face to face and be able to do the BENIRE in its intended way, but it is alright at least everyone
is safe. The flow of the activity was really fluid despite the limited time that we had. It was quite
challenging because of some connectivity issues but that did not stop us from continuing and finishing
the activity.

What I have learn and realize from the activity is that we should always have a connection with God.
He is our creator and therefore we are connected and will always be connected with Him. But
sometimes this relationship is somehow fading because of our earthly sins. Ours sins separates us
from Him and therefore it is up to us on how this relationship be rekindled. Especially during this time
of the pandemic wherein there are a lot of people who is suffering and dying, we should learn how to
be grateful for everything we have. This is a perfect time for us to rekindle this fading relationship and
remember where we originally came from.

Moreover, one of the highlights of the recollection was the Gospel from Mathew, when a rich man
seeking to enter the Kingdom of God asks Jesus what are the qualifications for him to enter it. Jesus
responded to follow the commandments and share the things that he has to the poor. The man did all
of the commandments but could not bear the other order. It is indeed hard for us human beings to let
go of the material things that we possess. But there is a reason why Jesus mentioned about giving
our wealth to the needy. For this wealth of ours is what separates us from God. We are being slave of
money and material things that we somehow glorify it instead of God who is the original provider.
Additionally, helping the needy is an act of compassion, mercy, and generosity. And these attributes
is what the world needed right now. Especially in this trying times wherein people need each other to
live. As Christians it is important for us to live out these qualities and continue to walk and live out the
words of Christ.
