ABSTRACT

This study was conducted to determine the tertiary students’ interpretation of

emoji using Big Five Personality Traits in College of Arts and Sciences, Isabela State

University enrolled during the School Year 2018-2019.

The study determined the profile of the respondents in terms of gender, age

and course. The study determines the interpretation of student on the emoji using Big

Five Personality Traits. Data were analyzed using Pearson R, Spearman Rho and Chi-

square were used to determine the relationship between the respondents' profile and

emoji. Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) aided the computation of the

statistical parameter. The standardized questionnaire was used as an instrument to

gather data.

Furthermore, the findings on the relationship between the emoji as to gender,

age, and course were found to be significant.
