Assessment brief
This assessment requires you to write an 1800 word reflective essay about your employability skills. The essay must
include discussion about your completed personal SWOT (strengths, weakness, opportunities, and threats) analysis
and PDP (Personal Development Plan)
To pass, you will also need to include the following in the Appendices section at the end of your submission:
A detailed personal SWOT analysis based upon the results from 6 completed self-audit activities
A detailed PDP covering 3 employability skills, based on the weaknesses from your personal SWOT
analysis.
As stated above, these are expected to go in your Appendices therefore these are NOT included in the essay word
count.
This is an academic essay and you must, therefore, include at least 10 academically appropriate references. Both the
in-text referencing and the reference list must comply with the Harvard Referencing Standards. You should use
references to introduce some theory into your reflections.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Your essay and appendices must be collated into one Word document only and submitted into the relevant
submission portal on Canvas by the deadline set. Never delete any of your work. Always keep a copy of your work,
including any draft work.

The requirement to keep a file of working papers is important. There may be circumstances where it is difficult to
arrive at a mark for your work. If this is the case, you may be asked to submit your file and possibly meet with your
tutor to answer questions on your submission.

outlined in your assessment brief.
Performance Descriptors
Performance descriptors indicate how marks will be arrived at against each of the assessment criteria. The descriptors
indicate the likely characteristics of work that is marked within the percentage bands indicated.
