Proposed Intervention Program

Rationale

It is believed that the most important person who could make

or unmake the lives of children is the teacher. The teacher, who

is considered as the director and the manager in the classroom,

is responsible for and accountable to the performance of the

pupils.

The need to address the challenges identified in this study

and to supplement the coping mechanisms devised by teachers

necessitated the proposal of an intervention program by the

researcher.

This intervention program includes trainings/workshops on

Time Management, Interpersonal Skills, and Instructional Design

and Materials Development and on Explicit Instruction.

Introduction

There are many ways for a teacher to be developed. One that

has been identified is through training. This Intervention

Program will focus on the training of teachers according to their

needs and what has been identified in this study.

The trainings will be done during the teachers’ vacant time,

mid-year break, and before opening of classes, usually one week

before the enrolment period to make sure that everything has been
taught, trained, and internalized by everyone. The topics on this

training are topics needed for the improvement of instruction.

Goal

Train teachers on how to handle the 21st-Century children,

link with stakeholders, prepare action researches, make use of

information and communication technology, enhance teamwork in

school, and encourage pupils’ participation in school, community

programs, and activities.
