Rules and Regulations
1.Eligibility
Following players will be eligible to take part in the tournament :
● Maximum FIDE rating of the player must be less than 2000 as of August 1st, 2021.
A. For Rating Calculation, we go with following rules:
As per the league regulations, for FIDE Rated Players we consider Maximum Published rating on August ,
2021 from Standard, rapid, Blitz
All players should have created an account on Tornelo.com.
Titled Players (GM, IM, FM, WGM, WIM) aren’t allowed to participate in this event

Time Controls
● Qualifier Stage : Each game will be 10 minutes with 3 seconds increment.
● Top Division & Playoffs : Each game will be 10 minutes with 3 seconds increment.
● Armageddon (Only for Playoffs) : White player gets 5 mins, black gets 4 mins with odds. White needs to win
whereas a draw is sufficient for black player to go to the next stage. Team Captain has to send Board Order
with Armageddon Player during playoffs.

2.Team Roster
Following will be rules for the team makeup.
● Team can have a maximum of 5 players and a minimum of 4 players.
● Each game will be played over 4 boards by 4 players from each team.
● Once the players are registered, the team cannot be changed throughout the tournament.
● All the communications with the tournament officials will happen through the captain.
● Captains can submit board orders in chess-results.com(Online Mode)
● Board order once submitted, can’t be changed for a day. If the captain wishes to change board orders for his
team
● Average Team rating of a team playing a match must be less than 2000.
● For non-FIDE rated players, Team rating will be counted as 1000
●
Note to Players : It is mandatory for all registered players to write their Full Name as per FIDE or
Aadhar ID
 Team Structure
Team will follow the below structure :

Stage 1 : 10 minutes + 3 seconds

● The teams will be divided into 6 teams in each pool.
● In each pool teams will play 6 Rounds in Round Robin.
● Top 2 teams from each pool will be selected for Stage 2.

Stage 2: 10 Minutes + 3 seconds

● The Top Twenty teams will play 2 pools each will 10 teams in the Stage 2.
● Round Robin will be there and Top 4 Teams will be selected for Final Stage

Stage 3 (Final): -Knock out Stage: 15 Minutes + 10 seconds increment

• 8 teams will play for Knock out.
• 4 Teams after Knock out will be followed like as IPL Format.

3.Team Captain
● Team captain must be aged above 18. A non playing captain is allowed as 7th Member of the team.
● Captain can be anyone who is part of a team, parent of any player from the team or Coach/Mentor for the
team.
● Official Communication for the whole tenure of the league has to be done by the Team captain only with
League officials.
● Captains are not allowed to contact anti-cheating officers for any requests.

4.Tiebreak format - Play-offs

● If the scores are equal, an Armageddon with time control of 5 min for white and 4 min for black will be played
out between the teams. White will require a win to win the match, any other result will result in victory for
black. White and black will be chosen with a toss. The rules for deciding the players playing the armageddon
will be confirmed after pool stages.

5.Terms and Conditions

● Players are requested to be fully in Zoom during the Game and Tornelo.com
● Tournament officials will not be responsible for any disconnections. Players are responsible to maintain a
stable internet connection.
● During qualifier stages, any team might be asked to connect to a video chat platform randomly for fair play
arbitration on zoom video with screen share.
If any player is found cheating or any unfair play, points received by the team will be reversed and the team
may get disqualified. This decision will be taken by Chief Arbiter and Tournament Officials after several Checks.
No appeals for cheating cases will be entertained.
● The organiser has the right to accept/refuse any entry for participation.
6.Appeals
● Any appeals concerning fair play or disconnection must be made within 10 min of the end of round.
● A fee will be charged (₹1000/-) for each appeal and the same will be refunded if the appeal is found legitimate.
● Appeals committee will consist of 3 members.

The timings of the event are fixed as and when declared. The organizer reserves the right to change these timings
under any emergency considerations.

10. Entry Fees
First 30 Teams Registering / Before 06th August 2021 - Rs. 1800/- (Early Bird Discount)
After 30 Teams - Rs. 2200/- (Dynamic Entry Fees)

All Players will get E- Certificate by Stage wise completion.
