PROCESS DESCRIPTION
Producing Nylon 6,6 from Diamine and
Diacid is a step-growth or polycondensation
process. In this process, two monomers
combine and grow into larger molecules.
Eventually, these molecules will form high
molecular weight polymers.

PECO SOLUTIONS
The Diamine and Acid feed stocks
should be filtered prior to mixing to
remove contaminants. Peco
recommends either the ComPleat or
UltaPure products for these applications.
The All Polypropylene construction and
absolute rating will provide clean raw
materials into the mixing process. Clean
raw materials into the mixing process
will allow for efficient and complete
reaction prior to the Polymerization phase
of the process.
After the mixing process and prior to
the Polymeriztion, the solution takes
the form of Salts. These salts have
a tendency to agglomerate and form
 Large crystals. These agglomeration have
to be removed prior to Polymerization in
order to ensure better reaction and condensation
of the material. Peco recommends the
UltaPure Platinum for this application. The
UltaPure will clean and classify the salts
solution to ensure the proper polymerization
process.
Any additive, such as TIO2, to the process
also needs to be filtered to assure removal
of any contaminants that can lead to off-spec
product.
