Internationalization of curricula
• Overall Goal 1:
The international and intercultural consolidation /development of the curricula content,
in order to be more attractive to international students and to offer an international
experience to the national students.
• Objective or sub-goal 1) :
International exposure/lectures a key element in ensuring relevance, topical interest and
quality in the degree programmes offered. Students need to acquire important intercultural
and linguistic qualifications by participating in courses in foreign languages alongside
students from other parts of the world.
Activity A) Availability of more subjects and complete degree programmes in English.
o Short, medium, long term milestones.
- Increase the number of subjects offered in English. The subjects must be of the same
high quality as degree programmes in romanian and it must be ensured that future
international students (at Bachellor or Master’s level) have access to full-time programmes.
- Planning schedule for different subjects offered in English.
Indicator deadline: Preparing the topics and the calendar starting with academic year
2015-2016. Starting program - with academic year 2016-2017.

Activity B). Evaluating the foreign students’ satisfaction with regard to the knowledge and
skills acquired in their study programmes and satisfaction with non-academic services.

- Reporting the results and measures designed to improve these activities: 1 progress
report / analysis.
- Organizing meetings in collaboration with the Teachers’ Training Department with
the aim of defining the international competencies and their assimilation process:
two meetings / semester.
- Indicator deadline: Academic year 2015-2016 academic year

Activity C). Completing the pre-registration platform for study programmes in foreign
languages.

- Using the pre-registration platform for international programmes offered by Valahia
University of Târgovişte.

• Objective or sub-goal 5) :
Increased use of international quality standards.
Activity A). ”Valahia” University will continually develop and promote its educational
activities through international accreditation and evaluations.
o Short, medium , long term milestones:
- ”Valahia” University will maintain the structured and systematic approach in the
field of education required to maintainits ECTS Label. Any faculty can apply for
international accreditation of different study programmes.

• Overall Goal 1:
Increasing the number of foreign students enrolled in the study programmes in Romanian
and foreign languages of Valahia University of Târgovişte.
• Objective or sub-goal 1):
Attracting a larger number of degree-seeking foreign students paying tuition fees or
benefiting of scholarships.
Activity A) Improvement of the marketing and strategy elaboration, VUT promotion and
the recruitment of the foreign students

- Designing the department/team for marketing, promotion and foreign students
recruitment

Activity B) Identifying the target countries for student recruitment, in order to develop the
marketing strategy.

- Market study of educational offer in Europe and abroad. Identification of potential
for new study programs (bachelor, master, doctorate).

Activity C) Improving the information dissemination in order to answer the prospective
students’ needs for orientation regarding their mobility decision.

- Creating a new, more attractive web-site for International students recruitment
- A better advertising of the Preparatory Year for Romanian Language: eligibility
criteria, admission criteria, the ECTS system, graduation: the publication of
information on the website of The International Relations Office;
- Reviewing the information related to university internationalization: the
internationalization strategy.
- The permanent updating of the legislative information /modifications.

International recruitment
• Overall Goal 1:
Development of marketing measures in international recruitment.
• Objective or sub-goal 1):
Improving the external communication and promotion of VUT.
Activity A) Creating a distinct identity in order to profile the university in its promotion.

- Elaborating a questionnaire that will be addressed to all academic community
members in order to identify the main shared values, norms, significant artefacts.
- Analysing the questionnaire results and creating a distinct identity

Activity B) Defining ”Valahia” University graduate characteristics

Activity C) Creating an Alumni network in order to promote the VUT

Partnerships
• Overall Goal 1:
An active involvement in the social, economic and cultural local, regional, national and
European sustainable development by promoting universal cultural values, in agreement
with the demands of the knowledge-based society.
• Objective or sub-goal 1):
Increasing the visibility and attractiveness of our university at the national and regional
level
Activity A). Developing a policy of partnerships adapted of the strategic orientation of
VUT.
o Short, medium , long term milestones:
- Setting up criteria for partnership selection
- Elaborating a monitoring evaluation mechanism of the partnerships, in order to
point out the success, quality and benefits of the partnerships over time

The university will ensure that strategic alliances reflect the needs and aspirations of the
research environments for international networks.
Activity A). Identifying key scientific research areas, to ensure the participation in national
and international competitions, thus ensuring the future investment in research.

- Increasing the number of international partnerships in the field of scientific
research.
- Optimizing the information on the website of the Multidisciplinary Technological
and Scientific Research Institute: the information shall be made available in

In our research, we will be focusing more on our strong points, such as our high-quality
disciplinary research and the multidisciplinary approach.
We will also be focusing more closely on our teaching. We are choosing a unified and clear
educational concept for the entire university and degree programs designed to give our
students a broad sense of social awareness.
In pursuit of valorization, one of our core tasks, we intend to intensify our interaction with
our environment, alumni,and other stakeholders. As part of this objective, we are striving
to become an enterprising, externally-oriented university that is open to strategic
partnerships.
We are opting to become a leaner and more competitive university. The goal is to create a
simple, more flexible, and more transparent organization in which our employees feel they
are part of a greater whole and combine their strengths.
