SOEL WINS THE WRITTEN ROUNDS OF THE INTERNATIONAL

NUREMBERG MOOT COURT COMPETITION, 2021

The team comprising Mr. Sunand Subramaniam, Ms. Sowmya Mahalingam, Ms. Yeseswini
Shanmuga Sundaram and Ms. Smriti R. Saroja from the IInd year - School of Excellence in
Law, The Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai represented India at the
Nuremberg Moot Court Competition, 2021.

The team bagged the award for the "BEST MEMORANDUM - PROSECUTION" in this
prestigious international moot court competition. This competition lasted for over 8 months
with 112 universities participating from around the world.

The Nuremberg Moot Court is based on International Criminal Law, dissecting both complex
procedural and substantive issues. This competition provides the unique opportunity to plead
at the historic Courtroom 600 in the Nuremberg Palace of Justice, where the Nuremberg Trials
against the major Nazi war criminals took place. However, in lieu of the COVID-19 pandemic,
it was conducted online this year.
