CONTROL UNIT- MAINTENANCE PRACTICES

1. General
A. There are two fire detection control units (UT004, Left and UT002, Right) located in the tailcone
accessible through the tailcone baggage door.
B. Removal and installation procedures are typical for both units.
2. Fire Detection Control Unit Removal/Installation
A. Remove Fire Detection Control Unit (Refer to Figure 201).
(1) Disconnect electrical connector (PT004, Right or PT003, Left) from control unit.
(2) Remove screws securing control unit to structure.
B. Install Fire Detection Control Unit (Refer to Figure 201).
(1) Secure fire detection control unit to beam with screws.
(2) Connect electrical connector (PT004, Right or PT003, Left) to control unit and safety wire.
(3) Conduct fire detection system check for proper operation.
