DO YOU LIKE HEAVY METAL

Read this dialogue!


Luke and Daniel are in a record shop
Luke : What sort of music do you like?
Daniel : It depends, I love rock and rap, but I don’t like techno very Much
Luke : Do you like heavy metal?
Daniel : yes, I do. Do you?
Luke : No, I don’t. I hate it. But I like Reggae.
Daniel : Oh. Look they’ve got the best of Celine Dion. She’s Canadian,
you know. She’s got a great voice. I think she’s brilliant.
Luke : My father thinks she’s good, too. But my mother doesn’t like her.
She likes sting. She’s crazy about.
Daniel : You’re lucky, My parents like Julio Iglesias!

Practice 1
Tell the class about three things you like and three things you don’t
like. For example:
• I like hamburger and cake
• I like tea but I don’t like coffee
• I don’t like ballet or country music

Practice 2
Choose some friends, write about the music, singers and bands they like.
Make it into short dialogue .

Games
1. Each student writes one profession on a piece of paper
2. Student can also use unusual profession such as killer, shoplifter, etc. 3.
Attach the paper to the back of each student without the student seeing
what is written on it.
4. The students have to guess their profession by asking the other
students yes/no questions, such as Do I work everyday? Do I meet
many different people? Do I have a lot of money? Do I travel a lot? Do
I work with animals? Do I have a boss? Do I work in a building or
outside?, while they are walking around in the classroom as if in a
party setting / office reception.
