Introduction to the subject

Electronic systems are an assemblage of electronic components like diodes, transistors, resistors, capacitors and
inductors. These systems control the flow of current through a circuit in various ways to accomplish a variety of
functions, like listening to music in MP3 player, cook food in microwave ovens, and to communicate with satellites.
In short, electronics engineering is all about controlling the flow of current flowing through the electronic system.

Electronic Devices and Circuits subject introduced in B.Tech II-Year, I-Sem ECE-JNTU-Anantapur deals with
the behavior of basis electronic components likes diodes and transistors. Further, it explains the application of these
components in rectification and amplification of voltage (or) current signals.

The table below illustrates the complete idea about the subject, which will be helpful to plan and score good marks
in the end examinations.
