 INTRODUCTION

Chào các sĩ tử TOEIC thân mến,

Có nhiều bạn học viên tâm sự với cô rằng: “Cô ơi, bài reading part 7 khó quá em không làm
được!”, “Em chẳng có đủ thời gian làm bài”, hay “Em không dò thấy đáp án trong bài đọc cô
ơi!” Cô tin rằng không chỉ các học viên của cô mà cả các bạn đang đọc cuốn ebook này cũng
có cùng những trăn trở như vậy. Nào, bây giờ hãy cùng cô tìm hiểu lý do vì sao reading part 7
lại khó như vậy và cùng nhau chinh phục reading part 7 trong cuốn ebook này nhé!

Có một sự thật là các sĩ tử của cô thường tập trung vào part 5,6 mà bỏ quả part 7. Trong khi
đó, part 7 chiếm 54 câu trên tổng số 100 câu, lẽ ra cần được đầu tư thời gian nhiều nhất. Vậy
vấn đề đầu tiên nằm ở kỹ năng quản lý thời gian.

Lý do thứ hai nằm ở việc hạn chế vốn từ. Đề thi TOEIC thường xoay quanh những chủ đề mang
đậm tính chất chuyên ngành kinh doanh, marketing, kinh tế, thương mại. Như vậy, nếu không
chăm chỉ bỏ túi khôn một lượng từ vựng lớn những từ chuyên ngành, đặc biết là chủ đề kinh
tế và thương mại thì sẽ rất khó khăn cho các sĩ tử khi đi thi

Bên cạnh đó, rất nhiều sĩ tử khi làm bài chỉ biết chăm chăm ngồi làm và dịch hiểu trọn vẹn bài
đọc, trong khi bài thi lại dùng rất nhiều kỹ thuật paraphrasing để đánh đố các sĩ tử. Vậy lý do
cuối cùng nằm ở phương pháp làm bài chưa đúng. Để khắc phục được vấn đề này và có được
cách làm bài hiệu quả, các sĩ tử cần hiểu thói quen paraphrasing của người ra đề.

Hiện tượng mà trong đó những thông tin đề cập tới ở đoạn văn được viết một đằng nhưng
đáp án lại được thể hiện theo một cách khác được gọi là paraphrasing. Đề thi TOEIC thường
triển khai kỹ thuật paraphrasing này theo 5 cách bao gồm: sử dụng cụm đồng nghĩa (using
synonyms), sử dụng cụm trái nghĩa (using antonyms), sử dụng câu bị động (using passive
voice), sử dụng phép liệt kê (using listing), và sử dụng thay đổi dạng từ (using word family).

 THEORY

Paraphrasing có nghĩa là diễn đạt lại ý câu văn, hay đoạn văn của người khác bằng cách sử
dụng từ ngữ khác so với câu hay đoạn văn gốc.

Đối với đề thi TOEIC reading part 7, người ra đề thường sử dụng kỹ thuật paraphrasing để
đánh đố các bạn đi thi với 5 kỹ thuật chính, đó là: sử dụng các cụm đồng nghĩa (using
synonyms), sử dụng cụm trái nghĩa (using antonyms), sử dụng câu bị động (using passive
voice), sử dụng phép liệt kê (using listing), và sử dụng thay đổi dạng từ (using word family).
Năm kỹ thuật này được lồng ghép uyển chuyển với nhau nhằm làm khó các sĩ tử. Vậy, để vượt
qua thử thách này, các sĩ tử cần nắm được 5 kỹ thuật này để có định hướng ôn tập reading
part 7 dễ dàng nhất nhé.

5 kỹ thuật này cụ thể là gì và cách người ra đề vận dụng chúng để bẫy các sĩ tử ra sao?

1. Kỹ thuật sử dụng cụm đồng nghĩa

Kỹ thuật đầu tiên là sử dụng cụm đồng nghĩa. Để thấy người được người ra đề áp dụng kỹ
thuật synonym như thế nào, chúng ta cùng nghiên cứu ví dụ sau đây.

nghĩa với “I am self-taught”. Vậy cô Carter có thể không phù hợp với vị trí này vì cô ấy là
người không có bằng cấp chuyên môn trong lĩnh vực cô ấy ứng tuyển.

3. Kỹ thuật sử dụng câu bị động

Kỹ thuật thứ ba là sử dụng câu bị động. Cụ thể, thông tin trong bài đọc sẽ được viết theo

 Tóm lại, các bạn có thể thấy paraphrasing được sử dụng đan xen và khá nhiều trong đề thi
TOEIC reading part 7. Vậy khi nhận thức được người ra đề sẽ sử dụng kỹ thuật paraphrasing
trong reading part 7, các sĩ tử nên chuẩn bị luyện tập như thế nào nhỉ?

Không có con đường tắt nào dẫn tới thành công, để chuẩn bị luyện tập thành công cho reading
part 7, các sĩ tử không còn cách nào khác ngoài học những cụm đồng nghĩa, trái nghĩa, từ cùng
trường từ vựng và từ cùng gia đình. Cụ thể:

B1: phân tích bài tập trong quá trình làm bài.

B2: tra nghĩa của từ trong từ điển để rút ra những cụm đồng nghĩa, trái nghĩa, liệt kê và từ
cùng gia đình.

B3: ghi lại vào cuốn sổ từ vựng. Chú ý đặc biệt đối với kỹ thuật liệt kê, các bạn có thể vẽ
mindmap lại với các từ vựng và trường từ vựng của chúng như hình minh họa sau:

B4: Ôn tập lại những từ vựng ấy thật nhiều lần để không bị quên.

Để ghi chú từ mới hiệu quả, các sĩ tử nên tìm cho mình một cách ghi chú có hệ thống và quan
trọng là phù hợp với tính cách của bản thân. Mỗi cá nhân sẽ có cách viết ghi chú khác nhau
miễn sao tự mình đọc lại có thể hiểu được và tra nhanh lại được điều mình cần tìm trong ghi

lại từ mới, sử dụng từ mới nhiều bao nhiêu.
