Admission Test Assignment

Still life composition – 3 objects

Medium: Pencil on drawing sheet
Size: A3 (half drawing sheet)

Step 1: Identify and select one cuboid object, one cylindrical object and one organic spherical
object from your household.

Examples of household objects under each category

Step 2: Arrange a still life composition using these three objects (one from each category).

Step 3: Draw the still life composition from observation.

Step 4: Photograph and email the admission test assignment on 10th August, 2020 by 3 pm
on drawing.test@kinnaird.edu.pk
SAMPLE COMPOSITIONS explaining placement and relative sizes of the three objects in
comparison to each other.
DRAWING GUIDELINES:
 Draw the arranged still life composition from observation.
 Draw free hand. DO NOT use a ruler. Drawings that are made using a ruler will not be
considered.
 Don’t draw too small. Your drawing should use at least 70% – 80% of the drawing sheet.
 Feel free to use the drawing sheet either vertically or horizontally based on your still life
arrangement.
 Rendering/ shading your drawing is optional.

DOCUMENTATION + SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:

 Candidates have to submit the following three images in JPEG format,
Image 1: Photograph of the still life arrangement
Image 2: Photograph of the complete drawing
Image 3: A close-up of the drawing for details

 Candidates must submit high resolution, clear images. Blurred / pixilated images will not be
accepted.
 Make sure the drawing is photographed in a well-lit space. Preferably in natural light.
 Place your drawing vertically and keep in mind the angle while taking a photograph.
 Crop out any extra area around your drawing sheet.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: Monday, 10th August 2020

Email the admission test assignment on drawing.test@kinnaird.edu.pk till 3 pm.

The email must mention;

 CANDIDATE'S FULL NAME in the subject matter
 FATHER’S NAME
 FORM NUMBER
 DEPARTMENT PREFERENCE, Fine Arts OR Textile Design. Mention both if the
candidate has submitted the form for both departments.

Store the drawings made for the ONLINE ADMISSION TEST carefully. Admission will be
granted provisionally based on online submission of drawings. It will be confirmed once
hard copy evidence of the drawing is submitted when classes begin.
