Concepts (Generalization)
 Active Voice - the subject performs the action stated by the verb
 Passive Voice -the subject is acted upon by the verb

Active voice: subject + verb + object

Passive voice: subject + be verb + PP (Past Participle) +by+ O

Active Voice Passive Voice


A. Simple Present Tense
Singular The clerk types the report. The report is typed by the clerk.
Plural The clerks type the report. The reports are typed by the clerks.
B. Present Progresive Tense
Singular The clerk is typing the report. The report is being typed by the
clerk.
Plural The clerks are typing the reports. The reports are being typed by the
clerks.
C. Simple Past Tense
Singular The clerk typed the report. The report was typed by the clerk.
Plural The clerks typed the reports. The reports were typed by the clerks.
D. Past Progressive Tense
Singular The clerk was typing the report. The report was being typed by the
clerk.
Plural The clerks were typing the reports. The reports were being typed by the
clerks.
E. Simple Future Tense
Singular The clerk will type the report. The report will be typed by the clerk.

F. Future Progressive Tense

Lesson 2 Radio Broadcast and Telecast

a. Get the meaning of special vocabulary used for radio broadcasts and telecasts

Concepts (Generalization)
Radio play is a dramatized purely acoustic performance broadcast on radio.
Some terms in radio play or radio broadcast:
Back Announce-a presenter talks about a song that has just played
Bumper-a song, music, or another element that signals a transition to or from commercial breaks
Clean Feed-an audio stream that is free from interference like sounds from external equipment
Cue Light-signal to the presenter that she/he can start broadcasting or to stand by (e.g. red light usually means
standby, green light means go)
Playlist-list of songs that a station has arranged and will play

Television play is a drama highly embedded with camera shots, scenery, and lighting show on television.
Some terms in television play or telecast:
Shot in iris or in mask -screen is darkened except for a light opening in the center, round, or otherwise in shape
Panorama (Pan)-amera gives an even movement sideways, upwards, or downwards
Credits-the information at the beginning and end of a film, which gives details of cast and crew, etc.
Exhibitor-a general term referring to an organization responsible for showing a film or video
Intertitles-titles that appear on screen between moving image material

In Biblical times, the only way to “carry” good news was to bring it physically, walking from one
place to another. Technological advances, however, have opened up numerous additional
communication channels, all of which we can use to amplify the rate at which we spread the Word.
