Lack of awareness in terms of the drivers’ own attidude.

Another reason on why road rage happen is because the lack of awareness in terms of the
drivers’ own attitude. This consists of their behavior and manners which are lack of empathy,
patience and intolerance. What happens when there is lack of tolerance? Lack of tolerance
leads to fighting, violence and finally destroys the peace and security of society.

When people fail in their arguments, they tend to become intolerant, resulting in the use of
force and aggression to support their point of view.

We have seen considerable incidents in recent history where people attacked other people and
caused chaos. Let’s all of us imagine a situation where you are ready to go back home after a
tiring day at work or at college, you excitedly pick your key, get in the car and start driving.
Then, while you are on the road, the car in front of you turn left without giving any signal
which begins to irritate you. Turns out, the driver in that car is using phone carelessly and
talking to someone which makes you more annoyed. What would you do? Yes, you could
start yelling, honk angrily, display angry gestures or you could burst and express out your
anger by getting out of the car and confront the anger. There are many violent actions that
you can do to show your anger to the driver, right? If it were me in that situation, I would say
that I could do that, but rationally no. In fact, I would choose to be understanding and
considerate towards the driver. Here, let it be clear that I am showing tolerance and being
able to put my anger under control and at the same time, be patient towards the driver. It does
not necessarily mean I am accepting the wrong act that is done by the driver. I will just
embrace the act and say to myself that tomorrow is going to be better. It is simply a matter of
me controlling myself. What if I choose to response badly to it? It might be a chaos for sure
which I personally would like to avoid.

So, can we think that how pleasant it would be if everyone tries to express themselves in a
decent and respectful way with a pinch of tolerance? We could just choose to ignore it or
take a right action by report it to the authorities. To conclude, the word tolerance can be
justified as the willingness to accept or tolerate, especially the behaviours that you may not
agree with, and to behave sensibly with those who are not like you. Additionally, it is to
express one’s point of view in a decent and mannerly way while respecting the sentiments of
others.

I might be fully disagree with others on that action, nonetheless, I am still going to treat them
as a good human that follows the law and order.
