NAMES
This lesson is for young adults with a language level of Pre A1 and focuses on
developing listening and reading skills based around the topic of ʻnamesʼ.

The students will be able to ask and answer questions about personal information like
names.

Possessive Adjectives
They are words that modify a noun to show a form of possession, a sense of belonging
or ownership to a specific person, animal or thing.

We use possessive adjectives:

to show something belongs to somebody: My car is very old.

for relations and friends: How old is your sister?

for parts of the body: He's broken his arm.

SUBJECT POSSESIVE

I have a shirt. My shirt is green.


You have a book. Your book is new.
He has a pillow. His pillow is soft.
She has a dog. Her dog is small.
It has a dog. Its bone is old.
We have a bird. Our bird is noisy.
They have a car. Their car is slow.

YOUR = Possesive Adjective. ITS = Possesive Adjective.


- You need to bring your dictonary. - The dog played with its ball.

YOUʼRE = You are ( Contraction). ITʼS = You are ( Contraction).


- Youʼre an excellent student. - Youʼre an excellent student.

POSSESIVE

- Your balloon is green.


- My balloon is blue.
- Your ballons are green.
- My balloons are blue
- Yourʼs ballons are green.
