Language ‫اللغة العربية‬
This week we investigated the word 'FRIEND' and ‫لنعزز عملية تعلم اللغة هذا األسبوع بحثنا‬
focused on the first three letters, F/R/I. We learnt
how to write each letter using the correct formation

technique and brainstormed what the perfect friend *‫*دودو بال صديق‬
would be like, including characteristics.

Fish’.
Our sight words for this week was like/my/yes/no ‫بدعوة حروف المد وطبقناها على الحرف‬
and we reviewed our sight words from last week
the/a. We read a story where students needed to

identify each sight word and using the strategy ‫تعلمنا من خالل العديد من األنشطة المفيدة‬
Think-Pair-Share, students used each word in a
sentence of their own and shared it with their

Unit of Inquiry ‫الوحدة البحثيّة‬


This week we focused on the difference
between a family member and a friend. More
importantly, that family can be friends, but
friends can't be family, even if they feel like ‫أهم ما تعلمناه في وحدتنا البحثية‬
family! Students sent in pictures of
their friends, and we used a sorting activity to ‫الطرق التي نكسب األصدقاء من خاللها‬
differentiate between the two terms making ‫وذلك من خالل قصتنا األسبوعية‬
use of practical examples.

We introduced the concept of a Venn Diagram,
where we can list the differences and
similarities between friends and families.

Math ‫الرياضيات‬
In Math this week, we continued our counting practice in
many creative ways by watching videos, using counters ‫مستمرون في تعزيز األرقام عدا‬
and counting together in a circle and playing games. We
practiced writing our numbers with the correct number ‫وكتابة‬
formation from 1-20 and introduced the 'sleeping' line,
better known as the horizontal line. Students went out ‫كذلك تطرقنا إلى أنواع الخطوط‬
into the main hall area and tried to find objects in their
immediate environment that had a horizontal line in it.

This helps students make connections from the real world
to abstract concepts.

• Dismissal times, every day is at 13h45, except for a Tuesday which is


at 12h45.
• Please ensure that your child has a healthy packed lunch to help
them keep up their energy levels during the day.

We are getting ready to begin our art project about Friendship.


This week, we started asking ourselves who are favorite friend is
and why.
