Purpose of the course

The course is designed to enable the student complimentarily and expeditiously manage
unforeseen occurrences, which may adversely affect the health of individuals and communities

Expected Learning Outcomes


At the end of the course, the student should be able to:
1. Provide comprehensive knowledge on disaster preparedness, mitigation and
rehabilitation.
2. Carry out risk assessment and vulnerability analysis.
3. Generate community awareness and strengthen universal mechanism for community
mobilization and participation in disaster management.
4. Develop communication skills for disaster preparedness.
5. Create greater awareness about effective disaster response in various emergencie
