1.What is the purpose of the study?

The thesis was designed as a qualitative quest relevant to the assigned homeworks in

science and technology courses in order to explore the students' perspectives.

2.What are the research questions? (May be explicit or implicit)

(1) What does the homework imply for you? Please clarify;

(2) What kinds of tasks are used in science and technology homework?

(3) What types of activities would you like to see in science and technology homework?

Please explain why;

(4) What problems do you face while doing homework for science and technology

courses?

(5) What are the contributions of assigned homeworks in science and technology

courses?
3.Who are the participants and where is the research site?

Participants include 1539 7th and 8th grade students from nine primary schools in

Osmaniye's city center that are supervised by the Ministry of Education's Department of

Education.

4.How were the data collected through a qualitative approach?

In this work, the case of science pattern (phenomenology) was used which is one of the

qualitative Research patterns that are suitable for the nature of research. It is

understood from the term "qualitative research" that it is a type of research, findings of

which are not reached using statistical operations or quantitative tools.

5.How were the data analyzed?

In phenomenology studies, content analysis method is applicable to phenomenology. It

sometimes means searching for repeating words and themes in a text. In this respect,

after the content analysis, the themes, and codes were composed related with each

question that take place in the interview form. The method is generally used for

simplifying and making sense. It tries to define a series of qualitative data.

6.What are the findings that respond to the research questions?

These are the corresponding answers to each question:


1.Homework requests from students may be taken into account.

2.Homework that requires observation that is related to nature, wildlife, or everyday life

may be assigned.

3.Students should be guided on how to locate references relating to the topic of their

homework's.

4.When the subject is well known, homework should be assigned.

5.When assigning homework, readily available homework should be taken into account.

6. Homework’s appropriate for the students' grade level (6th, 7th, or 8th) may be

selected.
