•lmmerse all the metal parts in a carburetor 'For the KX60/KDX8) model, check the gasket on both
clean-ing solution. sides of the plate at the valve seat for damage.
•Rinse the parts in water. the gaskets are damaged, replace them.
•When the parts are clean, dry them with com- 'Remove the pilot jet (KW), KDX80) or Slow jet
pressed air. (KX80).
'Blow through the air and fuel passages with 'Check the pilot jet or Slow jet for any damage.

•Assemble the carburetor, and insta" it on the with a new one.

Carburetor Inspection

WARNING

ex-plosive under certain conditions. Do not
smoke. Make - sure the area is well-ventitated
and free from any source of flame or sparks;
this ín-cludes any appliance with a pilot light.
Fbat Valve Wear

'Remove the carburetor.

'Before disassembling the carburetor, check the 3
fuel level (see Fuel Leve' Inspection).
the fuel level is incorrect, inspect the rest of the
carburetor before ¿orrecting it
'Pull the throttle cable to check that the throttle valve 2
moves smoothly and returns by spring pressure. If
the throttle vaive does not move smoothly, replace
the carburet0F.
•CIean the carburetor. 1

Push and release

For the KX80 model:

'Remove the float valve needle.
•Check the float valve needle for wear.
the needle is worn as shown 1. Rod 3. Valve Needle Wear
in figure,
replace the vaive needle. 2. Valve Needle
•Push the rod in the valve needle, then release it. the
rod does not came out fully by spring tension,
replace the valve needle.

'Inspect the outside of the throttle vaive for scratches

For the KXO/KDXN) models:
'Remove the float valve needle and valve seat.
•Check the float valve needle and valve seat.
*Ifthe needie is worn as shown in the figure .or the
seat is worn, replace the valve needle and valve
seat as a set
•Push the rod in the valve needle, then release it the
rod does not come out fully by spring tension,
replace the valve needle and valve as a set
and abnormal wear.
it is badly scratched or worn, replace the throttle
'Inspect the inside of the carburetor body for these
same fauits.
it is badly scratched or worn, replace the
entire carburetor.
'Check the jet needle and needle jet for wear.
*A worn needle jet or jet needle should be replaced.
