3. Lesson Breakdown.

Introduce Yourself: the first lesson of each group, as well as the first part of the
competition. The focus of the lesson is to help students of different ages to make a
successful and impressing self-introduction. Normally, teachers need to show students
some speech skills first, and then teach students some necessary and optional
information to mention in their self-introduction and have them practice. Lastly,
students will have to choose a type of talent show, prepare for the talent show after
class and present it to the teacher in the second class. For the competition, students
can show any talent they are good at, but there are only four types of talent show
provided in the lesson for students to choose: Singing, Poetry reading, Story telling
and Tongue twister.

Talent show: the talent show time comes after the self-introduction. The first part of
the lesson is for students to show their talents, with 1 minute time limit. Since
students have prepared their talent after last class, teachers don’t need to give them
extra preparing time. After the performance, teachers should comment on students’
performance and give them some suggestions. There are some performance
skills provided for different types of talent show, students can select one to know
about. The last part for the lesson is dubbing. Students will first watch a short video
and then read the script. After that, they can try to dub for the video.

Dubbing: in this kind of lessons, students will learn some dubbing skills and do some
dubbing practice. Firstly, students will learn some dubbing skills while trying to
imitate. Then, students will learn how to use the skills in dubbing with an example.
Lastly, they’ll do more dubbing practice.
