WE, the undersigned Registered Marine and Cargo Surveyors, did at the request of EGPN BULK
CARRIER CO., LTD., acting on behalf of Owner’s P & I attend on 11th June 2021 up to 17th June
2021, on board the bulk carrier MV “CHANG CHANG NAN HAI” whilst anchored at the loading
point, in order to conduct inspection and can test of the cargo intended for loading, without
intervention on the loading operations. Result of which showed as under :
INSPECTION:
The cargo is generally describe as “Nickel Ore” which is light to dark brown color with coarse to
fine materials having a maximum particle size of more less 200mm and generally appeared dry and
free flowing which indicates the same to have moisture content not exceeding her transportable
moisture limit as required, with a shipper’s declared *Average* Moisture Content of 35.80%, Flow
Moisture Point of 41.73% and Transportable Moisture Limit at 37.56. The cargo is not liable to
emit methane and not liable to spontaneous combustion and no chemical and physical hazard but
liable to liquefy when the Moisture content exceeds the Transportable Moisture Limit.
Generally, based on visual inspection, the cargo was in loose condition with low moisture content.

CAN TESTS: (Method As per IMSBC Code Section * under par. 8.4)
If the Master has doubt in regard to the appearance or condition of cargo, a check test for approximate
determining the possibility of the flow may be carried out on board the ship or at the dock side by the
following auxiliary method : “CAN TEST”.

Note : The Master and the undersigned attending surveyor has no doubt on the appearance or
condition of the cargo, nevertheless, for our checking purposes, we still collected sample
from all barges and subjected to can test. Result revealed some cargoes showed no obvious

QUANTITY LOADED

A total of Eighteen (18) Barges trips comprised the total cargo loaded on board at 55,320.000 Wet
Metric Tons (as per vessel’s draft survey). During loading operations, inspection on regular basis
was likewise being undertaken in all the Cargo Hold Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 ( aside from the cargo on
board barges), and as far as we could ascertained, there was no mixture of cargo with high moisture
content stowed in holds.

Summary of the result of our inspection and can tests showed below, are as follows:
