I. Internship Proposed:

Marketing Strategies in automobile industry in India

II. Description of Internship :

Marketing is the study and management of exchange of relationships. The


American Marketing Association has defined marketing as “the activity, set of
institutions, and processes for creating, communicating, delivering, and
exchanging offerings that have value for customers, clients, partners, and
society at large.”

Marketing strategy has the fundamental goal of increasing sales and achieving a
sustainable competitive advantage.

It also deals with the analysis of the initial situation of the company, its
formulation, evaluation and selection of the market oriented strategies.

Through this internship, the marketing strategies that are taken up by the
automobile manufacturers to grow and sustain in the Indian Market is discussed.
This research is secondary in nature. For this purpose, two of the leading
automobile companies are taken – Tata Motors Ltd and Hyundai Motors India
Ltd (HMIL)
III. Objective of the Internship:

1. To study the various marketing strategies those are employed to sustain and
grow by the Automobile Industry in India.

2. The two companies taken for the purpose of research are Tata Motors
Limited and Hyundai Motors India Limited.

3.3. PESTEL Analysis

IV. Action Plan:

My plan is to complete the following topics first to create a better understanding


on the internship work. The following topics information is going to be
collected and interpreted in a week.

 Fundamental principle of Marketing Strategy

 Overview on Automobile Industry in India

 Portfolios of Companies taken for research

Next is to analyze the data and filter the excess information to ensure clarity in
work and understanding.
V. Schedule:

The following dates below are the expected deadlines for the
completion of reports.

31st May ,2020 : Initial Information Report Submission


29th May ,2020 : Proposal Submission
21stJune , 2020 : Interim Report Submission
12th July, 2020 : Final Report Submission
13th-17th July, 2020 : Final Evaluation &Presentation

VI. Limitations:
The above study which includes information, facts , applications are from
India. The information in the study is not viable in Europe and North America.
Marketing strategies in automobile industry in india cannot be used in Europe
and north America without proper public insights and culture. The marketing
campaigns used by tata motors and Hyundai motors should be adopted based on
the local customers and culture. The above study only gives theoretical
knowledge on marketing strategies in automobile industry by using a
comparative study between two competitors in the indusry.
