Today we want to start with a photo. Look at the photo.

Ok, what do you see in the photo? What can you tell me about the photo?

1. Look at the people!

- We see the friends: Holly, Dave, Olivia, Luke, the person in green, and another
person.

(How many people do you see in the photo?

Do you know the girls and boys from the book? What are the names? Who is the
person in green? Do you have an idea?)

2. What do the friends do?

- They wear costumes, they have a party and they talk together.

(I think, the friends are very cool today. Why are they so cool today? Look at the
clothes).

-It is a birthday party. We see cake, balloons, a birthday card, candles….

(The six friends celebrate together. They celebrate a special day. What special day
is it? Is it a Christmas party? Is it Easter?)

3. Our photo has a name. The name is a fancy dress party

What do you think: what is a fancy dress party? Do you have an idea?

(A fancy dress party is a party and the people wear costumes).

4. Now let us look at the costumes.

Holly is the witch. (Do you know the German story of Hänsel and Gretel and

Dave is superman. (I think you know what superman in German is, it is the same
word).

Olivia is the carnival dancer. (dancing, let`s dance! Is like this to music)

Luke is the smurf. (in German: Schlumpf)


This person in green is an alien.(Who knows what an alien is?)

This person is a pirate. (Look at the hat, in German: Pirat)

We don`t know, who the alien is and who the pirate is.

Now open your books at page 80.

It`s Jay`s birthday and he invites his friends to a fancy dress party.. (Jay says:

We need the narrator, we need Jay, Dave, Holly, Luke , Jay`s mum, Olivia, all( Jay
,Luke, Dave, Holly together).

Was sollt ihr bei der Aufgabe machen?

Bei der Aufgabe sollt ihr die verschiedenen Fragen beantworten. Es gibt für jede
Frage drei Antwortmöglichkeiten. Eine davon ist richtig. Die Antworten zu den
Fragen findet ihr im Text im Buch. Ihr müsst also Auszüge aus dem Text eventuell
nochmal lesen. Ihr sollt auch sagen, wo ihr die Antworten im Text gefunden habt.
