TOPIC 2:
It is true that in every organization, planning would be a pre cursor to the success of
an organization but planning could be an easy thought but the most difficult to act out.
They say that if you “Fail to plan, then you plan to fail”. I have been working for the last
two decades and nothing can really prepare you than planning itself. It gives you a cushion
on how to do about the uncertainties of your work in the organization.
When I became the TESDA Coordinator of Asian College. I was faced and tasked at all
times to plan ahead and make my department at all times income generating. It was hard
to do that most especially if your resources are limited. Then came a time where we were
asked to create a Strategic Plan for our department. I asked myself what can my
department do to increase our sales in the department. I thought of adding courses that
are key employment generators, I tapped on the best teachers and told them to just do
their best because we will create a word of the mouth marketing strategy. It worked 100%
from 6 enrollees to a near hundred after just two years. I would like to credit it with
planning ahead and creating a goal that is attainable and practical.
This is one of my favorite topic in Sir JM’s report. Ethics and Corporate
responsibility because I can truly relate to it. I guess, as an employee, we are at the
mercy of how our organization would direct us to what is ethical and what is socially
responsible because, at the end of the day, we only get to work when we truly believe
in them. If you feel that your values and ethics are not aligned with your organization,
I don’t think you will feel comfortable.
We are own natural resources. I believe that if it's sustainable then it is relevant.
Last week, I was hesitant when TESDA included me in a new program Garbage
Collection NC I. I asked myself and felt embarrassed because I might be stationed in
Candau-ay to teach Paleros or Garbage collectors. I was wrong, I was introduced to a
more important goal. Sustainability and Garbage segregation. I was faced with what
is happening in our environment and I am very thankful I became a part of it. I don’t
have to be in Candau-ay dumpsite to manage our waste. I just need to educate myself
and my family on what is sustainable and not sustainable.
D. School Management
I want to share that MDC is fairly a new school when it comes to School
Management, but the best thing about it is their openness and willingness to adapt to
whatever school management that is best for the school. It won’t be just the salary
adjustments and benefits but the totality of how the school can help all stakeholders
and I am proud to say that I am honored to be part of the school that is gearing towards
a better school management.
E. Personnel Management
Good thing we have a very competent HR Manager. She not only divides the work
among us all but also directs us on how to do it by conducting many motivational sessions
in the organization. She also made the vision for the other employees to do the work more
specifically and efficiently according to the directions provided by the management. MDC
is much more successful when hiring employees because our HR manager knows better
and very much experienced when it comes to employee acquisition.
