Internet

Internet has been perhaps the most outstanding innovation in the field of communication in the history
of mankind. It is a collection of various services and resources. Although many people still think that
e- mail and the World Wide Web as the principal constituents of internet, there is a lot more in store
than email, chat rooms, celebrity web sites and search engines. It also became the best business tool
of modern scenario. Today the internet has brought the globe to a single room. Right from news
across the corner of the world, wealth of knowledge to shopping, purchasing the tickets of your
favourite movie everything is at your finger tips. Internet has great potential and a lot to offer. However
like every single innovation in science and technology, internet has its own advantages and
disadvantages.

By the advent of computer's internet, our earth has reduced and has attained the form of a global
village. How we can communicate in a fraction of a second with a person who is sitting in the other
part of the world. Today for better communication, we can avail the facilities of email; we can chatfor
hours with our loved ones. There are plenty messenger services in offering. With the help of such
services, it has become very easy to establish a kind of global friendship where you can share your
thoughts, can explore other cultures of different ethnicity.

Information is probably the biggest advantage internet is offering. The internet is a virtual treasure
trove of information. The search engines like Google, Yahoo is at your service on the internet. There
is a huge amount of information available on the internet for just about every subject known to man,
ranging from government, law and services, trade fairs and conferences, market information, new
ideas and technical support, the list is endless. Students and children are among the top users who
surf the internet for research. Teachers have started giving assignments that require research in the
internet. Almost every coming day, researches on medical issues become much easier to locate.

Many services are now provided on the internet such as online banking, job seeking, purchasing
tickets for your favourite movies, guidance services on array of topics engulfing every aspect of life,
and hotel reservations. Often these services are not available off line and can cost you more. E
commerce is the concept used for any type of commercial manoeuvrings, or business deals that
involves the transfer of information across the globe via the internet. It has become a phenomenon
associated with any kind of shopping, almost anything. You name it and E commerce with its giant
tentacles engulfing every single product and service will make it available at your doorstep.

Nothing in the world is perfect, everything and everyone has its own pros and cons. Similarly, contrary
to popular belief the Internet isn’t just full of advantages. There exists many disadvantages that many
people still aren’t aware of or refuse to talk about. If you’ve been on the Internet long enough, chances
are you’ve been victim to cyber bullying at least once or more in your lifetime. Cyber bullying is a
serious crime that is usually ignored by most, due to the simple fact that it is “virtual” and not physical.
Too much of anything always has a side effect, where as in this case – sitting all day in front of your
computer or using your mobile phone to access the Internet can cause a lot of health issues which
include heart problems, obesity, skin problems, eye problem, back pain etc. If you’re a frequent user
of smart phone & computer and haven’t faced any of the health issues mentioned above, then you’re
probably lying as 94% of frequent users have reported experiencing one of these issues at least once
in their life time.

Usage of the Internet, especially using many social media has been linked with depression & anxiety.
People give less time to the people who are present near them physically and give more time on the
Internet. Even though they may have 500 friends on Face book, they still feel lonely and depressed
due to lack of physical contact. Hence it’s best to get out once in a while, no matter how great your
virtual life is going. If you’re having difficulty finding friends, you can find them virtually and ask them
to hangout. Great places to meet friends would be on social networks or online chat rooms. Even
during social gatherings, you’d find majority of the people involved using their phone.

One of the most impactful disadvantages of the Internet in this decade is fake News, the Internet has
become a trusted source of getting news and information from around the globe. More than 57
percent of the population worldwide using the Internet, the spread of false information can cause
panic and disturbed. How many governments and online media platforms have made a lot of efforts to
verify facts before it is posted online to avoid false information and unnecessary complications. Even
after almost 50 years since the making of the Internet, the security threats over the Internet still
persist. Hackers can steal sensitive information that can harm individuals, businesses, and other
organizations, although the spread of viruses and other malicious programs can be identified to a
certain extent.

Conclusively it would be safe to say that the Internet is something that we have to know, and we
should know what is good and bad for us, and keep ourselves away from what can damage us in any
way. It is the same for every people, we have to be responsible because the Internet is a tool that
helps us either with seeking information or in any ordinary situation. the internet is not bad the people
who use it make it bad the internet is not dangerous for people that want to learn that want to
communicate meet other people it is dangerous for the people that are looking for something
dangerous.
