Hello everyone! This is Umesh Bhatta, wishing you all a very happy International Students day.

I
am an international student from Nepal, doing my undergraduate degree at SCMS Noida. I have
learnt so many things about the culture, language and traditions of India through my colleagues
in this span of one year. For me being at SCMS Noida was a really great experience as I got to
interact with people from different cultural, lingual and ethnic backgrounds.  Anyway on this
occasion of International students day let me give you all a glimpse of the Nepali culture and
tradition.
Nepal is divided into the mighty mountains, the lush central hills, and the flat terai regions. Every
topographical region here is garnished by different cultures, languages and local traditions.
Geography has created diversity in language and subsistence practices. As a result, we have
around 50 languages and thirty-six ethnic groups. Further, the different ethnic groups have a
different set of customs, dress and cuisine. This has made Nepal a basket of diversity. Well,
Nepali is the official language of Nepal. It is said to have been derived from Sanskrit. Talking
about religion, Nepal has many religions like Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, Christianity, etc.
blended together with the touch of harmony through centuries. Garnished with the most
beautiful colors of religions, traditions, languages and cultures has constituted in Nepal being a
very enticing painting that can captivate anyone’s eyes.
