Evidence: My presentation outline

A. Find a topic of personal interest. Imagine you are going to present that topic
orally to your teacher and classmates at school. For this part of the evidence
you need to carry out exhaustive research in order to be able to present all the
necessary information related to your selected topic. Report the most important
aspects of your research through a brainstorm of the ideas and concepts that
you think will be relevant to the presentation.

Brainstorm

Topic The telescope

• an optical instrument that allows you to observe distant objects in much more detail than
the naked eye by capturing electromagnetic radiation, such as light. It is a fundamental
tool in astronomy, and each development or improvement of this instrument has allowed
advances in our understanding of the universe.
• The name "telescope" was proposed by the Greek mathematician Giovanni Demisiani on
April 14, 1611, during a dinner in Rome in honor of Galileo, a meeting in which attendees
could see the moons of Jupiter by means of the apparatus that the famous astronomer had
brought with him.
• There are several types of telescopes: refractors, which use lenses; reflectors, which
have a concave mirror in place of the lens of the target, and reflectors, which have a
concave mirror and a correction lens that support a secondary mirror. The reflecting
telescope was invented by Isaac Newton in 1688 and an important advance on the
telescopes of his time by easily correcting the chromatic aberration characteristic of
refracting telescopes.

learning activity. Present your outline through presentation cards. Use as many
cards as you need.

Structure: I’m going to divide this talk into five parts.

1. Early beginnings.
2. Civil aviation.
3. Commercial aviation.
4. Modern aircrafts manufacturers:
a. Airbus.
b. Boeing.
c. Embraer.
5. The most famous aircrafts in history:
a. Concorde.
b. Boeing 747.
c. Airbus A380.

Let’s turn now to the first part: the early

beginnings of aviation…

My subject today is the telescope

STRUCTURE: I’M GOING TO DIVIDE THIS TALK INTO FOUR PARTS.

1. DEFINITION.
2. ORIGIN.
3. INVENTOR
4. TELESCOPE CLASSES

Let's now turn to the first part: DEFINITION OF TELESCOPE.

[Get as far as your mind allows]

Let's begin
1. DEFINITION

My subject today is the telescope: the telescope is an

optical instrument that allows you to observe distant
objects in much more detail than the naked eye by
capturing electromagnetic radiation, such as light. It is a
fundamental tool in astronomy,
and every development or improvement of this instrument
has allowed advances in our understanding of the universe.

2
Let’s turn now to
2. ORIGIN

The name "telescope" was proposed by the Greek

mathematician Giovanni Demisiani on April 14, 1611,
during a dinner in Rome in honor of Galileo, a meeting in
which attendees could see the moons of Jupiter by means
of the apparatus that the famous astronomer had brought
with him.

That's all I have to say about its origin. Basically this was his
first appearance

Now we'll move on to

3. INVENTOR

The reflecting telescope was invented by Isaac Newton in 1688 and

an important advance in the telescopes of his time by easily
correcting the chromatic aberration characteristic of refracting
telescopes.

Analysing this point - Where does that lead us?

This leads us to believe that the patented invention was Newton and
the others only gave contributions.

Lastly

4. TELESCOPE CLASSES

There are several types of telescopes: refractors, which use

lenses; reflectors, which have a concave mirror in place of
the lens of the target, and reflectors, which have a concave
mirror and a correction lens that support a secondary
mirror.

Unfortunately, I seem to have run out of time, then. I will conclude

very briefly with the sentence I take at the beginning

C. To complete the evidence, you must now write a complete list of references
using the guidelines given by the American Psychological Association (APA). Do
not forget to organize your references alphabetically.
