You are going to see images of five cities and their landmarks. Write a
paragraph describing each city and country it belongs and the landmark shown.
Use the vocabulary from the box for the descriptions. The first one is done for
you as an example. / A continuación verá imágenes de cinco ciudades y sus
lugares representativos. Escriba un párrafo describiendo cada ciudad, el país al
que pertenece y el lugar mostrado. Use el vocabulario dentro del recuadro para

New York is a big city in the

United States (North
America). It takes thousand of
visitors every year. The city
has a population of around 8
million people. There is a lot
to see and do in New York.
You can visit the Central Park,
the Metropolian museum and
Time’s Square. In the picture
you can see the Statue of
Liberty, a monumet built
between 1875 and 1986. It is
93 meters tall. The statue is
New York (USA) – The Statue of Liberty
located on Liberty Island in
the Hudson River.

Rome (Italy) – Saint Peter’s Square
Sydney (Australia) – The Sydney Opera
House
Edinburgh (Scotland) – Edinburgh Castle
Rome is the capital of Italy .
The city has a population of
around 2.9 million residents.
In Italy , you can find The
grand canal of venice where
you can ride boats.
Rome has a lot of traditional
buildings . In the picture , you
can see Saint Peter´s Basilica.
At the center of the square is
an Egyptian obelisk.
The Sydney Opera House is a
multi – venue performing arts
centre in Sydney , Australia ,
identified as one of the 20 th
century´s most distinctive
buildings.
The government of New South
Wales ,led by the premier
Joseph Cahill , authorised
work to begin in 1958 with
Utzon directing construction.
Edinburgh Castle is a historic
fortress which dominates the
skyline of the city of
Edinburgh, Scotland , from its
position on the Castle Rock.
Archaeologists have
established human
occupationof the rock since at
least the Iron Age ( 2nd century
AD), although the nature of
the early settlement is
unclear .
Its importance as a part of
Scotland ´s national heritage
was recognised increasingly
from the early 19 th century
 onmwards, and various
restoration programmes have
been carried out over the past
century and a half.
Dubai is the o¿most populous
city in UAE. The city has a lot
of modern buildings. Dubai is
located in the Arabian
Dessert.
In the picture you can see The
Burj Khalifa a.k.a Khalifa
Tower.
It is the tallest skyscraper
around the world . Outside
was designed a fountain
system .Burj Khalifa was
designed by Adrian Smith and
Dubai (United Arab Emirates) – The Burj the building has received
Khalifa many awards.
