Objective
To introduce the basics of English Language Teaching (ELT).
Intended Learning Outcomes
a. This course aims to introduce the basic concepts of language, linguistics, and ELT as one of the subfields of linguistics.
b. Students will be able to understand the theories of learning foreign language.
c. After attending the course students will be familiar with the methods of teaching foreign language.
d. The course will help learners to know about the issues related to curriculum and syllabus design in language.
e. It will prepare them to learn about the nature of language testing.
Methods of Instruction
The teacher will adopt a communicative approach to teaching. Therefore, students will have to actively participate in
all classroom activities while the teacher will facilitate their learning process.
