Worked as a Team Leader for AXIS IT & T LTD, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. I
have worked On Site in Checking Team in CATERPILLAR EDC-INDIA checking
CATERPILLAR drawings for New Product Design and Design changes which are
released with respect to Corporate Product and Process Standard,
manufacturability and design intend. I have to check the drawing quality of
Large Power System Division drawings in the offsite LPSD (Large Power System
Division) checking team. My role also involves communicating back to the
process partners about the checking results, coordinating with Engineering /
Detailing Teams on Project Management and mentoring TEAM Members Of
Power Systems Drawing Quality Team.

Caterpillar is conducting an interview for the post of Drawing Quality
Checker.

Job duties and requirements:

As an Associate Engineer, you will be supporting Drawing Quality Team to

perform Form, Fit and Functional check for drawings executed in Engines and
Components Team which covers casting components of Engines and
Transmission towards NPI, CPI, Cost Reduction programs. You will work with
a team to solve technical problems and delivery of projects, mentor and
provide support to team members, and deepen your professional network

 Thorough understanding on material selection, datum targets,

casting failures and prevention in design phase,
 Knowledge on picking functional datums and applying tolerances,
datum structure.
 Awareness on inspection of datums and datum features.
 Initiates conversation when needed with the Engineer/Detailer, not
hesitant to ask pertinent questions.
 Good Knowledge on drawing revision and understanding on the
change revision.
 Knowledge of Casting, Forging, Machining, Surface Finishing and
Heat Treatment Processes are needed
 Complete projects on time and on cost
 Strong Knowledge on ASME Y 14.5 – 2009 standards
Experience in Product Design/ Modeling of engine for Heavy Machinery
components and earth moving equipment.

Proficient in welding symbols & its application in drawings Effective in handling

Team Centre & NPI (New Product Implementation) process

Cost Reduction & Quality/Maintenance Project under Current Product Activity.

Bill of material creation, Process & quality process sheet creation based on
design aspect.

Core experience in structural design (light and medium fabricates structures)

and design of casting, forging, sheet metal and plastic components.

Change level execution & documentation in Engineering Drawing Notice for

drawing release
