KNIFE GATE VALVE – VGU-09

General Description
The model FKB VGU-09 is developed to control and block the fluid sewage. They are light equipments, built
in formed steel sheets, structure profile and/or welded sheets. With perimetral sealing system through
elastomer, this model ensures Class III / IV tightness in both directions, with no accumulation point, flowing
loss, low maintenance rating and high versatility, provided that can be manufactured with Square or Circle
passages. The valves are entire provided, including all the accessories as: sensors, directional valve,
protection bellows and tubing, etc.

Body
Built in plain strong steel, on metal sheets or structure profile, in order to be strong enough to the maximum
pressure on the valve. The strength of the structure assures no damaging to the equipment during
transportation, installation and operation. Built on flat steel plate, designed in 4 minimum factor of safety as
the tension (pull) and 2 as the minimum factor of compressive and shear force.

Covered Transition
Ring built on stainless steel that eliminates the contact between monobloc body and fluid, ensuring no body
wearing and possible quick and easy substitution of the ring, when necessary.

Gate
Built on flat steel plate, designed in 4 minimum factor of safety as the tension (pull) and 2 as the minimum
factor of compressive and shear force.

Perimetral Sealing System

Made of Elastomer and Metal, the system inserted into the body, allows full flowing with no accumulation
point and possible obstruction of the passage, which ensures longer life to sealing and low-loss flowing.

Superior Sealing (Box Packing)

Made of gasket with compression system through elastomer, in order to guarantee 100% tightness for long
periods and avoid the possibility of leakage due to wearing.

Guide and Scraper

Made of UHMW, PTFE or Metal, is designed to guide and scrape the gate, in order to eliminate possible
incrustation fluid within the monobloc body and any possibility of misalignment of the gate.

Stem
Made of stainless steel and designed to support the operation of the valve under maximum pressure, then
the level of slenderness is less than 200.
Hand Starter: Stem is designed to transmit, at least, twice the manual engine output.
Pneumatic, Hydraulic and Electrical: Stem is designed to transmit, at least, 1.25 times the actuator effort
output.

Actuators
Hand Wheel: Designed to operate the valve under maximum pressure with application of manual effort in the
mechanism up to 18.15 kgf (178N). In case of using Gear Box, it will be sized for the force, at least, 110% of
rated specified pressure.
Pneumatic Actuator, Hydraulic or Electric: Designed for the force, at least, 110% of rated specified pressure.
