Part 2: Describing chart (1.5 pts)
The mark is based on the following scheme:
1. Content: (0.5 pts)
All the relevant information has been included.
Make general remarks and effective comparisons.
2. Organisation: (0.5 pt)
The answer flows well and is clear and easy to read, that is, the essay is easily understood and well-
organised.
3. Use of language: (0.5 pts)
Appropriate linking words and phrases as well as a good level of grammar have been used. Also, a wide range of
vocabulary is accurately used.
Part 3: Essay writing (3.0 pts)
The mark is based on the following scheme:
1. Content: (1.0 pts)
- Providing all main ideas and details as required
- Communicating intentions sufficiently and effectively
2. Language: (1.0 pts)
- Demonstration of a variety of vocabulary and structures
- Good use and control of grammatical structures
- Good punctuation and no spelling mistakes
- Legible handwriting
3. Organization & Presentation: (1.0 pts)
- Ideas are well organized and presented with coherence, cohesion, and clarity
- The essay is well-structured
- Giving a good general impression
