E-UTRAN part only.
Evolved UMTS Terrestrial Radio Access Network (E-UTRAN).
Following diagram shows the functional split between the E-UTRAN and the EPC for
an LTE network:
Problem Statement
To build a classification methodology to predict NW quality and
performance.
A.Coverage Analysis
1. Classification Radio Conditions (Good /Bad)
2. Compare Scanner Radio Conditions and Device Radio
Conditions
If both are same then its seems good ,otherwise we need to
improve with the help of parameter recommendation.
Dataset :
1. Device 6_Scanner Radio Conditions(information captured from
Drive test )
1. best 1. best Distance to
Time Lat. Lon. Ch SC Cell name RSCP Ec/N0 site TA

2. Device 4/5 _Serving Cells List with Radio Conditions(information

captured from Drive test )
Distance to
Time Lat. Lon. Site name Cell name Cell ID PCI RSRP RSRQ site
TA

Latitude/ longitude  is a geographic coordinate.

Site name used to identify Site/nodeB in NW.
Cell name used to identify antenna/sectors .which is used for separation of different
transmitters.
Ch :use to identify several frequency bands with associated bandwidths
PCI: Physical Cell Identifiers, in LTE networks provide a psuedo- unique value for
identifying eNodeBs. The PCI value is created from two components - PSS and SSS.
The PSS, Primary Synchronization Signal, has the value 0, 1, or 2. The SSS, Secondary
Synchronization Signal, can have a value between 0 and 167. The PCI value is [(3x
SSS)+(PSS)], resulting in a value between 0 and 503. With only these 504 values, PCIs
are reused in the network and planning reuse, reuse strategy, options, etc is a study
all unto itself.
PCI Collision/PCI Confusion : major problem in LTE NW its very difficut and time taking process

RSRP: Reference Signal Received Power

● RSRP is the average received power of a single RS resource element.

● UE measures the power of multiple resource elements used to transfer
the reference signal but then takes an average of them rather than summing
them

RSRQ: Reference Signal Received Quality

Measure's of reference signal quality including intracell power, interference and
noise.
RSSI: (Received Signal Strength Indicator) is a parameter which provides information
about total received wide-band power (measure in all symbols) including all
interference and thermal noise.

RSSI is not reported to eNodeB by UE. It can simply be computed from RSRQ and
RSRP that are, instead, reported by UE.

SINR (signal-to-noise-plus-interference ratio) is used as an indicator for network

quality and  quantifies the relationship between RF conditions.

B. Predict Call setup fail and Drops in the NW :

GPEH: use for KPI and NW performance analysis
NW trace : use for coverage analysis
3. Predict Call setup success and fail and drops .
Call setup success and fail and drops with its corresponding target.
A. Call drop(1) and no call drop(0)
B. Call setup fail (1) and call setup success (0)

C.Detecting NW Performance Anomalies (resource utilization):
Detects two types of anomalies of practical interest, namely
sudden drops and correlation changes, based on a large-scale real-world
KPI dataset collected from a metropolitan LTE network
Counter Dump: use for KPI analysis (NW performance)
Parameter Dump: use to check Existing configuration for the resource
elements.
