MODULE 3B

Lesson 1
Activity 1
1. Based on the map, what resources should you have in order to implement the LDM
adopted by your School/Division?
 For modular distance learning, we should have the following resources
-Materials such as coupon bond, ink, printer, big boxes, plastic envelopes
-Access to portals for the downloading of the modules

2. Do you have the complete resources for the Distance LDM needed in class? If the
LRs are not complete or not available, what steps will you take to make these available?
What are your options to substitute these missing LRs?
 NONE.
 Revisit the link provided by the SDOIN where the files are uploaded and provided
by the Central office.
 Use the contextualized WBLS, activity sheets and modules made by the teachers
of SDOIN.

3. What support will you need to maximize the use of the two DepEd-sanctioned LR
Portals? From whom can you get this support?
 Technical support from the ICT and other personnel incharge of Leaning
Resources Portal
 Strong internet connectivity
 From Deped SDOIN Officials

4. Based on your evaluation of the materials, are they appropriate to the level and
characteristics of learners? Are there learners who might be disadvantaged by the
materials (based on reading ability, level of learning independence, level of household
support, distance)? What adjustments will you make in terms of the LRs?
 Yes
 Yes
 Simplify the instruction and activities to cater the needs and interest of the
learners

Activity 2
Studying the Learning Resources Map expedites the distribution of modalities to the learners. It
determines what modality is the most appropriate for individual learner. Looking at the bigger
picture, teachers will have the opportunity to exchange information considering the fact that
some areas have the same situations and problems, likewise, the learners also have similarities.
Exchanging information about the kind of modalities to be used may lessen the “trial and error”
part.

Lesson 2
Activity 1
1. Given the LDM adopted in your school, how can the two DepEd portals respond to your LR
needs and those of your learners? How do they complement the LRs that you already have?
* Learning resources play important role between the teacher-student relationship. These
are aids in the delivery of lessons. More so, these are used as reinforcements for better
appreciation of the learning experience. In my school, both LRMDS portal and DepEd commons
offer flexibility in generating LRs all over the country since both portals have vast networks of
schools collaborating to develop learning modalities. The borderless feature of these portals
remove the scarcity of available LRs in our school. These portals also open development for the
LRs that we have.
2. What are the challenges in accessing the LRs in the portals both for you and your learners?
How will you overcome these challenges?
* Some challenges that appeared in accessing the LRs in the portals are; poor internet
connectivity and lack of gadgets. Some learners don’t have strong internet connectivity in their
homes, thus disabling them in accessing the portal. Some, however, able to accessed the portals
but it took them minutes or hours before they could. Another problem is the lack of gadgets on
the part of the pupils which really incapacitate them in accessing the LRs.
Thanks to the alternative delivery of modalities, these challenges may be overcome
through providing printed module to these children mentioned above.
3. What support will you need to be able to maximize the use of the LR portals? From whom can
you get this support?
* To maximize the use of the LR portals, we came up with the following needs. The
school needs financial support from the LGU and NGOs, technical support from the ICT
coordinators, voluntary service from the Barangay Officials, guidance and moral support from
the parents.

Activity 2
Learning resource portals are borderless and very convenient to use which only means that
communication, distribution, and usage of LRs became faster. By accessing these portals,
we can help and support each other by uploading and downloading LRs from the portals to
complement with the school-based LRs.
Some notable features of the portals that are shared during the LAC are as follows:
1. Flexible. According to others, both portals have numerous LRs from different regions. In other
words, we can now shift to other LRs when we don’t have one.
2. Convenient. Majority agreed that accessing the portals is more practical than making our own
modalities.
3. Simple. The portals are very simple and easy to use.

Lesson 3
Activity 1
1. Was the material able to meet all the requirements?
-Yes.

2. Were there any questions in the assessment tool where you answered “No” or “Cannot Be
Determined”? What decision will you make on the LR material? Why?
-None

3. Are there other aspects of the material not covered by the tool but still need to be
assessed? Specify which aspect/s.
-None

4. How does this exercise help you in picking the right and appropriate LRs for your lesson
and your learners?
-This exercise is a helpful reminder for teachers to meticulously pick the right LRs that
are most suitable for the learners where different factors such as those that are stated in
the rapid assessment tool are considered. If the teacher picks the most appropriate LR
with his/her learners’ needs in mind, then it would entail a higher percentage of
successful teaching-learning to happen. Thus, the LRs should be vertically aligned with
the needs and interests of our learners.

Activity 2
1. Based on the Assessment Tool, how does the material from a Non-DepEd portal compare with
the LR from the DepEd portal?
* I tried to download LRs from the SlidShare and I found out that most of the LRs are not
specifically aligned with the learning competencies of the K-12 Curriculum. Another is that,
compared to the LRs from the DepEd portal, the LRs from other platforms may have not been
checked or underwent quality assurance before they were uploaded.
2. Based on the results of the Assessment Tool, what improvements do the materials both from
DepEd and Non- DepEd portals- still need?
* Both portals have promising features to cater the needs of the schools but majority of
the LRs that can be found to both portals are not yet contextualized. Contextualization of
activities makes the lesson more engaging and interactive. Also, the LRs found to both portals
should have more detailed discussion so as to eliminate inconvenience. Some ready-to-print
modules don’t have enough examples and elaboration that is why the learners are, sometimes,
still need to use their phones and access the internet which is very inconvenient on their part.
3. How does this exercise help you in picking the right and appropriate LRs for your lesson and
your learners?
* The exercise helped me in picking the right and appropriate LRs for my lesson and my
learners in way that I explored other platforms and compared the available LRs therein with the
LRs from the DepEd portals. I found out that, although there are lot of available LRs in the
internet, some are broad enough that it already encroached other matters and some have very
limited information about the subject matter.

Activity 3
LR DEVELOPED: RBI Scripts for SHS DISS 11 Quarter 1

1. How does your material compare with the ones that are obtained from the online portals?
The developed material is a script for the Radio-based Instruction, a learning delivery
modality in the new normal. Unlike the learning materials obtained in the portals of DepEd, the
material still needs to be quality assured by the QA Team to evaluate its layout and design,
content and language. This process must be done to made sure the material adheres to the
guidelines of DepEd.

2. What improvements do you still need to make in your developed material?

Adjustments and revisions still need to be made in the developed material for its
betterment. The comments and suggestions from the Quality Assurance team must be
incorporated so as to vertically align it to the MELS, to ensure that there is no copyright
infringement and most specially to ensure that it suits the interests and needs of the learners in
the new normal.
Activity 4
INSIGHTS FOR PREVIOUS ACTIVITIES
Throughout the activities, I have learned that there are lot of factors to be considered in
picking up LRs for my lesson. Accordingly, the LRs must be connected and relevant to the
MELCs, appropriate to the grade level and learner characteristics in terms of language and
activities, easy to disseminate and/or reproduce, from a credible source/author, culture and
gender fair, free from red flags on possible copyrights and plagiarism issues, and the layout
should be pleasing to the eyes
