Basketball is one of our popular sports in our country. Many people love to watch and play
basketball. Despite our rich culture to this sport our ranking in the world doesn’t really apply as we in
the top 40 teams in the world.
But recently the Philippines will host the 2023 FIBA World Cup along with Japan and Indonesia,
and the Samahang Basketball ng Pilipinas is already recruiting young prospects that may represent our
country in the said event and they are already preparing and training them.
As a lover as basketball I agree that we scout young prospects that we can develop in order for
us to have higher chance to compete in the World Cup and in the same time showcase the pride of us
Filipinos as we defend our land.
We have already found some athletes that may represent our country in the Gilas Cadets. And
we are developing these talents such as 6’5 Kobe Paras, 7’1 Kai Sotto.
To showcase the culture of this sport to us we show continue to implement this way of
developing talents so that when we compete in the world cup we can defend our land and represent the
Philippines as a Basketball country.
