Act of Apostles Chapter 2,3,4,5

Saint Luke wrote the book act of the apostles, the evangelist; the book's general content is

a continuation of his gospel addressing the Theophilus. It talks about Jesus actions on earth until

the day he ascended to heaven to join the kingdom of God (Coutts, 1972). . There are so many

similarities in the authorship to point to the fact that he was the author.

Author Intended Meaning in Chapter 2

In this chapter, the author discusses the Holy Spirit is coming, As a revisit when he was

preparing to leave his apostles. He left them a promise that he was not leaving them alone and he

would send them holly spirit to guide them. Here the author was trying to show how Jesus is,

was and will always be a caring son of God. Also, in the same chapter (Macgregor, &

Ferris,1954)., we see the begging of the Church. The author's intentions here are to show how the

fellowship began in the fellowship, and Apostles began preaching God's word to both believers

and non-believers according to Jesus teachings. St Luke potteries the power of the Holy Spirit to

erase all sins provided someone got baptized.

Authors Intended Meaning in Chapter 3

In this chapter, Peter and John start practicing the powers they got from the holy spirit by

performing miracles while teaching people about the way of Christ. They healed a disabled

person on their way to the temple; the disabled person was expecting some token from them.

However, instead, they gave him something he could never have dreamt. The authors show us

the God has better plans for us and that not everything we pray for is the best for us.

Authors Intended Meaning in Chapter 4

Here the apostles start facing obstacles and strong challenges in preaching God's word

(Brawley,1990). . The church leaders started becoming envious of their powers; the intention

here was that the road to the kingdom would have challenges, and only the strong would make it.

Authors Intended Meaning in Chapter 5

As Ananias and Sapphira were trying to help spread the word of God, they made one

mistake. They lied to God, God intern punished them with death, and the gospel here is that God

is vengeful; he punishes those who do not follow his teachings and a reminder that we should

repent before our time comes to join the kingdom of heaven.

Practical Applications.

From the beginning of chapter 2, we see the author showing the power of trust and

believing in Christ. Apostles were promised the gift of the holy spirit; with their belief and trust

in Jesus, they received it, Here we learn that we can achieve anything we set our focus on with

strong and focused belief. As Apostles starts practicing the Holy Spirit's gained powers, they also

much power that they could even heal the disabled; in real life, the apostles' general strength

shows how powerful God is. It is evident that before God, nothing is impossible. As we move

forward to chapter five, we find the persecution the apostles went through in fulfilling their

mission. We learn here that everything comes at a price, nothing is free, and if one has to earn

something, they should be ready to face the obstacles on the way.

The Kingdom Of God.

In these four Chapters, we get to learn that the kingdom of God is not earthly; it is a

powerful kingdom led by God the Father (O'Neill, 1993). , The Son and the Holy Spirit in the

holy trinity. In the kingdom, just like other earthy kingdoms, sinners are punished just like

Ananias and Sapphira. In Conclusion God is omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscience.
