I prefer to share the informative part of any event, keeping in mind the objectivity of the subject. I
avoid having opinion-based discussions on social media platforms as opinions differ from person to
person and they generally escalate to become meaningless conversations but I always appreciate
the analytical criticism of any information shared by me. My inclination is towards major national
events, which are affecting a large group of people, events such as COVID-19, Climate Change, and
Farm Laws, etc. I put emphasis on the facts and figures of any major event so that any false claim or
rumour could not propagate.

1. LONG TERM

My short-term goal is to understand the nuances of all the business aspects such as marketing,
finance, operations, and supply chain management, and then I want to be in a managerial role
where I will be leading a team or a business vertical where I would use my theoretical knowledge,
professional skills for achieving the organization's objectives. In long term, I want to reach a position
in the Business Development/ Operations Management vertical such that my decisions significantly
impact the overall development of the company. Also, I want to create business strategies that
consistently identify best practices across the organizations.

I started my corporate journey at KEC International Limited. I joined International Project

Management Team as a Project Engineer. As a Project Engineer, I duly planned, executed tasks,
followed up site work, and coordinated with cross-functional teams for timely completion of the
project. I learned all technical specifics for a job in my graduation days in college but I got insights
about various business aspects such as operations, supply chain management, finance after coming
into the corporate world. I feel my diligence, broader work experience, and keenness to learn new
things make me suitable to pursue a career in management.

When I joined as a Tower Erection Engineer in Jordan, we had a huge lag between output and
desired target. I analysed and proposed a new sequence for an older method of erection. Before we
used to send men and supporting machinery to the next site and then start erection, it used to take
almost half a day only in movement. I suggested using scaffolding and other temporary materials
instead of boom trucks and supporting cubes, we installed temporary supporting structures
simultaneously on different sites and then do the rest process consequently that helped reducing
man-hour by almost twenty-five percent.

Mangerial Traits

As a project engineer, Once I was stuck in a tough situation. I had three indispensable engagements
One I had meeting with design head to discuss a critical design issue that might affect project
execution. Second, client had site visit for quality conformance. Third, I had to inspect cube test
conducted by a third party. I put my client on top of my priority list as without quality conformance
our work could not continue, Second, I arranged meeting with design head without clash with client
visit and I requested third party testing agency to reschedule testing on the next day.

I got assigned as a Project Engineer in Jordan. I had many prejudices about that country as I was
sceptic about how I would be able to connect with people as I did not know their language,
traditions, culture etcetera. All my presumptions were gone, as local Jordanian were really helping,
Initially, they helped me to learn basic Arabic meanwhile we shared ideas with few words or sign
language. It definitely changed my belief system that is knowing language or tradition is not the only
necessary condition, one can simply connect with others just by showing basic tenets of life.

The year 2020 witnessed a catastrophic global event. Entire world suffered with COVID-19 , millions
of people got infected and millions of people lost their lives. World economies collapsed; people lost
their jobs, corporates had to change their way of functioning, meanwhile a new culture got started:
Work from Home. With the advent of Industry 4.0, remote manpower outsourcing will become
necessary and this will only be facilitated if work from home trend continue. As a pragmatic optimist,
I see enormous potential in work from home culture. I also believe that is going to reshape the entire
world economy.

In college, As a public relations team member, my responsibility was to bring sponsors and
renowned speakers to our college. My team leader was doing his job pretty well, suddenly he got
some personal issue, he had to leave the event in the middle. which disappointed my team members
and juniors, then I took an initiative in which with the help of some colleagues, we encouraged them
by highlighting the name of top performers on the college festival website, distributed goodies on
the achievement of certain tasks. This helped not only in team rejuvenating but also we achieved
over targets.

As a project engineer, once I had minor conflict with my manager as we had a case of missing tower
plates in one site, he wanted me to erect the tower without tower plates but I asked him to move
the team to next location while simultaneously fabricating those missing plates. His logic was that
we will lose half day in moving to next location. I explained him with the help of an experienced
supervisor that putting back those missing plates into erected tower will take more than one day,
also risk associated with it. Finally I got him convinced.

I am Himanshu Parihar. I am born and brought up in Kanpur. I am pursuing MBA in International

Business from IIFT Delhi. Prior to joining IIFT, I completed b.tech in Electrical Engineering from
MNNIT, Allahabad. Post that I joined KEC Int. Limited after training I joined its International Project
team in Jordan as a Project Engineer. My records have been consistent and above average
throughout my academic and professional career. I like to travel alone and draw cartoons whenever
I feel stressed.
The year 2020-21 witnessed a catastrophic global event. Entire world suffered with COVID-19 people
got infected and millions of people lost their lives. World economies collapsed; people and
corporates had to change their way of functioning. Still, we are not recovered from this
undefeatable and highly contagious disease, there is a constant danger of another deadly waves,
Last year, exactly the same time, I was preparing for my MBA entrance exam, while I was jobless
things were looking pretty bleak. I was having thoughts of quitting preparations and start searching
for jobs, but I decided not to quit I felt how privilege I am relative to those migrant workers who
constantly walking just to reach their home. I, on the other hand, living in much safer condition,
cannot justify leaving the work that I have started. The most important lesson which I learnt is not to
quit whether how hard the luck is trying on you.

One thing that matters to me the most is If I could make someone happy. I really seek that whatever
work I do; it helps someone in some or the other way. As it has been said that if we want happiness
for a short span of time, we can get it by spending some money in buying movie tickets or having
dinner in a fancy restaurant. The momentary happiness does not last long, it just becomes a part of
your camera or iPhone. One just experiences those moments just after revisiting those pics, so what is
the secret for a long-lasting happiness, it starts with ourselves when we help someone no matter how
small if it makes his or her day. It gives me a real sense or real value to life.

The steps which I have taken towards fulfilling the target that I have set are as following. I have
created a small coaching class in my home for underprivileged children. I teach three children; their
father is an auto rickshaw puller. Those kids are brilliant and they really have a bright keenness to
know everything, being an engineer, I could satisfy their knowledge thirst. I have bought for them
some second-hand books and stationary items with my savings. They need not only books but also
proper food for nourishment that I am looking to make an arrangement for. They also have one friend
who wants to join my classes but because of my limited resources I am unable to do so, but I have
made up my mind once I reach to a stable financial position, I will make all arrangements for their
higher studies, till then I will do it by myself whatever is required. People say that why don’t you join
a NGO which does this kind of work, I have a bit contrasting thought for that many a times NGO pick
children and serve them for a month a two but after that they do not track their progress and their
physical status so I thought opening a small school which not only teach but also track their students.
My vision is to provide full education support for 50 underprivileged students.

I started my corporate journey getting into India ‘s second largest tower manufacturer and Installer,
KEC International Limited, RPG Group in their coveted program Engineering Leadership Trainee. I
performed quite well in different stint and got an opportunity to join International Project team in
Jordan as a project Engineer. I was leading five teams each of 12 to 13 members for different
activities involved in a transmission line project while learning about Jordanian culture and Arabic
language. I am a quick learner and I always try to enhance any particular solution to a challenge. I was
not satisfied with the work that I was doing, I decided to quit my job to prepare for ESE exam as it
was related to civil services as well as it had most of the subject related to my stream. I flew back to
India in march 2019, enrolled in a coaching institute in Delhi and started preparation. I had very tight
schedule, on an average I had eight hours of fixed coaching and then four to five hours for self-study.
I continued my preparation with this pace continuously six to seven months but I realized I am
lagging in retaining some facts or memory-based data related to history, general sciences which were
part of the exam. I tried hard but could not manage to memorize logic less data. I discussed with my
parents and they advised me a simple thing that I still remember “Bird cannot swim, fish cannot fly,
just do wherever your abilities lie.” Then I decided to change my path to go for something where my
aptitude lies with. I got admit into IIFT Delhi, this entire process changed my perspective of dealing
with problems.
